Ralph showed me a picture of a turbine that does not look like an airplane propeller. Much more environmentally friendly and less dangerous to wildlife, from the pictures. Those would be I think better than what we usually see in a wind farm.

I have been advocating a massive, emergency national move to U. S. energy independence for many months. I believe that Al Gore is right and we should make this a national commitment similar to our commitment to land on the moon within 10 years. We have the brains and the capacity to do it if we will make the commitment. We must get our elected officials at federal, state, and local levels to suppor it, as well as all friends and families. T. Boone Pickens is right, this is a national emergency and it is destroying the U. S. economy. The price of oil is devastating our economy because it affects not just gasoline but everything we buy and use, from food, to clothing, to building materials. Petroleum is the resource for plastics and synethetic materials used in practically everything. That will still continue, but we must get ourselves off the drug-like addiction to oil. We are, as Pickens says, transferring our wealth to foreign nations, many of which are enemies to our country and who fund, with our money, terrorism around the world. The rise in oil prices amounts to economic terrorism and we must stop it. I also believe we must move to alternative energy like solar, wind, and geothermal in order to save our planet from the effects of global warming, which is near the tipping point where we could easily see the destruction of much of the world by rises in sea levels, and climate change which produces an increasing amount of severe weather that causes too much rain in some places and droughts in others, destroying living space and food, which will result in famine and much loss of life. For both economic, national security, and ecological reasons we have to get behind a move to alternative energy and I believe Mr. Pickens' plan is a practical way to get there.

I will contact public officials in my two "home states", Idaho and Oregon. My daughter will take care of Washington State. I totally support the PickensPlan, just as I support the RonPaul "Plan".

I have just joined the army to what I consider will save the world for all of our children & grandchildren. The Pickens Plan is the first time I have seen any real progress in this area. I will do what I can to promote his plan but also do my best to promote private wind & solar that is affordable to the average person in it's up front cost. As much as a money savings over the long haul would be great the most important thing people can't forget is saving our environment for future generations.
