PickensPlan

The left is trying to destroy america by keeping us from believing that we cannot get oil from the ground in a few years. They have you believing that we cannot get oil for 10 years. This is all BS. Yes, switch to new technologies. But if we dont increase supply some how, the USA will not have an economy left to save.

Now NBC bought the Weather Channel- Get Ready For The New Global Warming Channel- ALL Bad News All The Time. They cant predict the weather for the next month, and you want to believe they can predict for the next 100 years?

When I was in junior high, Newsweek Magazine said we would be in an Ice Age by now? What Happened? Where is the ICE?

The left is trying to use Global Warming to take control of the world-

Aids was going to kill all the people too- Wrong Again.

We can move towards all this. But not that fast. Drilling in the short run will save the USA.

Global Warming is Caused By The Sun Cycles Not Man - FYI

AT LEAST T BOONE PICKENS IS DOING SOMETHING!!!

Tim: I am right there with ya, believe me. I'm a Rush Limbaugh subscriber. But about 3 hrs ago, there was a Thread that started out with "do you agree with Mr. Pickens....". It was posted by a Wesly Weed. In there, there was some ineresting info from a guy, I cant remember his name....but he talked a lot of details about why "Drilling for Oil Now" is not viable. Check it out. I'd be curious if you had any feedback on it. He really started to get me to believe that maybe I needed to understand more on this whole "Drill Now" idea. Plus I keep thinking that this TBP was an oil tycoon, so if there was more money to be made in drilling for oil, then I'm sure he'd stick with it.

Tim,
You are a very subborn person, as I have read a few of your topics that you have posted. Reguardless of what you might blame the current situation on whether it be the liberal bias on global warming or the eco-friendly and anti-drilling groups. We all have to agree that even if supply were to increase, the cost of oil would drop, thus the cycle of supply would come full circle again because the cost of exploration and development would be to great, and once again supply is limited. What would you do then?

What ever we want to blame the situation at hand for will not help the current situation.

It looks like there is one in every crowd....

Allen: I dont understand. Tim is not dissing Pickens Plan, he is just saying we should focus on drilling NOW.

And I dont know WHAT Kimpossible means by "one in every crowd"...I am guessing it is just the usual liberal slam of just generally discounting or discrediting anyone that disagrees with them. Y'know, the usual arrogant, condescending attitude

Having been an environmental engineer for the past 35 years, I view some of the political garbage being posted here to be a real waste of space. Perhaps, Fox blogs would be a better place for these people to waste time.

Anyway, a CNG, plug-in hybrid would be an interesting component added to Mr. Picken's plan. It would utilize both his natural gas and wind powered grid proposals.

Isn't it amazing to see how well the oil industry has taught our fellow citizens that we HAVE to have oil to run everything? You'd think oil was the mother's milk we all thrived on so well that the idea of doing without it makes our brains shrivel up and die. Oh, well.

Mr. Pickens has done some things in the past with which I disagree. Now he's starting an action which I think is long overdue, and in just one night, there's an energy and excitement on this web site that amazes me.

Tim, I'm not sure exactly what you were trying to say but I absolutely agree with your last sentence. At least T. Boone Pickens is doing something. Hopefully, we'll all figure out ways to do something, and we'll accomplish much more if we work together than if we each try to go our separate ways.

I'm thrilled that Mr. Pickens is doing something! It's great to have a man who can command the public attention and direct it so well toward finding solutions to a serious problem rather than leaving us wringing our hands and crying because we know something's wrong but we don't know how to fix it!

Lead on, Mr. Pickens!

What I MEANT by my comment was that this is a person who doesn't explore the possibility of doing something different for the benefit of our entire EARTH for the long run. And by the way, why do all of you conservatives turn everything into an argument and then use the word liberal. BORING. By calling me a "liberal" only makes you an idiot because you have no idea what I am. Besides, this is an issue that is not political. Go blog on FOX NEWS because that's probably the only place you will feel credible.

I,m new to this blogging but I do Know that supply is down and demandis up M .King Hubbard predicted this was going to happen during the Carter years no one believed him then it came to pass he also predicted peak oil about this time span. Its here .. If we drill now the oil that we do get say 5 yrs down the road and will have increased in cost per barrel we will at least have our own to use to build for renewable energies.

Agree! Lets back Pickens' plan.

People, in order to get this problem solved, we need to get past the childish political name calling. This energy crisis we face is a huge problem, and creating viable solutions is going to require large segments of the American citizenry, especially the political junkies that I think most of us are, to put aside idealogical differences and work together.

I think we can all agree that, except for the most fringe elements of the political spectrum, we all want what is best for our country and families. I have two small children and I want them to live in an America that is still the best country in the world.

Let's put aside our petty differences and get to work on a problem that will ulimately affect us all.

Does anybody have any links to scientific documentation regarding wind generated electricity or CNG vehicle technology?

You need to get past left and right politics my friend. That is what is killing this country!
Ignorance, intolerance, plain stupidity is our worst fears realized. Solar is now, wind is now, bio is now. Change for this country will happen whether people want to stay in the stone ages or not. The price of gas today at the pump here in San Diego, Calif. is $4.59 for regular. Thank your President and V.P. for their Energy policy of greed and stupidity. T.Boone has it correctly in that we will not drill our way out of this mess that we knew was coming since the 70's oil embargo. Only fools put their head in the sand to think everything is fine. Reality says to make changes when needed, adjust, adapt to environments. Everything changes all the time. Nothing is static. That is survival! Saying that it is not raining when it is, is for morons who fail to make the hard choices in life, and want to blame everything else other than themselves. Be responsible for your choices.

The undrilled reserves in the US are going to come up sooner or later. Eventually the socio-economic pressures will just be too much. But thats really not the issue, because ultimately that is just not a significant amount of oil in the face of the increased demand and increased population. More drilling doesnt even touch the long term problem, and I applaud this effort in the right direction. God save us from people who use ideology to form opinions instead of thought. Calling someone a "liberal" as if that was an insult, without knowing anything about them is really indicative of the huge headwind we face.

Now how many people were trying to figure out my politics before deciding their opinion on this post???? Enough said.
