Don't let them fool you-Electric Vehicles are future
Big Oil worst nightmare is to see everyone in America driving around in Electric/Battery Powered vehicles. The technology is here now. The people who have had them loved them. BIG OIL and the BIG THREE AMERICAN AUTOMAKERS are in bed together and refuse to mass produce an affordable battery powered vehicle. CNG and Electric vehicles would put BIG OIL and there SLIMY CORRUPT TREASONESS political faction out of business. I am still suspect of Mr. Pickens. He comes from big oil, why is he investing so much money to push this plan? Why does his plan not include Electric Vehicles NOW? The technology exist. Or is he waiting till BIG OIL squashes the Electric Car again and commits treason again.

You are right that the oil companies don't want to see advances in electric vehicles. Nor are they thrilled at the influx of hyrbids and the push for cng vehicles. I doubt, however, that the American automakers are in bed with them. If they are, then big oil is hogging the middle and the automakers are clinging to the edge. Let's face it, the automakers are bleeding money left and right while the oil companies are making record profits.
You can bet one thing, the lobbyists for the oil companies, as well as the coal industry, will be working very hard to convince the members of Congress that wind and solar energy and cng, electric and hydrogen vehicles are not viable.
I would say that Mr. Pickens has not included electric vehicles because it is beyond the scope of his field of interest. He is building a wind farm and has interests in natural gas wells. What we can do, is take his plan and push ride its coattails and push electric and hyrdrogen vehicles. It all fits together in a strategy to get us out from the stranglehold of foreign oil and the big oil companies and gives our children a chance for a cleaner, healthier future.
As for Mr. Pickens having an oil background, even oilmen know that the oil fields are limited and supplies will dwindle out. I'd say he's looked into the future and seen that oil is on the decline.

I believe the Big Three American Automakers are bought and paid for by the oIl Industry. Why else would they go to the extremes they did to sabotage a their own successful electric car program, and go to great extremes to crush perfectly good vehicles that the people who had the wanted and liked them. They refuse to mass produce a product that Americans want. GM shareholder are all oil executives and the GM is small potatoes to them compared to the Oil industry. They go hand and hand. The good thing is the Bush/Cheney Cartel were wrong in there estimation that Americans would not buy Hybrids. Again American Auto Manufaturers get embarassed by Honda and Toyota because of greed and corruption. They don't loose out they are rich and are getting richer it's the middle class that get screwed on this one as usual.
Pickens is wrong. The technology is there for battery powered vehicles. I have listened to him speak, and it all seems top me like a big smoke screen to get Americans off the Hybrid/Electric vehicle track. The Volt is a scam to. It will never be affordable, quite frankly I doubt we will ever see one of them in a show room, they are just buying more time.
Another point: Why would the auto industry allow an oil company to buy the NiMH Battery technology and bury it. Then they sauntioned the original inventor of the technology from telling anyone about it.
Bush, Cheney, Card and Rice are all criminals. They stopped that California mandate using there political clout for the benefit of the oil industry. The Bush/Cheney Cartel should be in Jail, Not the white house.

the only problem with all that is if we went EV we would need twice as many generating plants which would have to be coal or oil fired. the future is EV but it cant be done at a national scale in USA at present time. we need to use cng till we have the capabilty to go EV.

Solar, Wind, and Pickens CNG will be able to provide the excess energy needed. Solar and wind are renewable. There are people out there now who have solar panels on there roof and drive there electric car for free. Charging batteries at night will not put a major drain on the grid. BIG OIL shiver at the site of this and will do everything in there power to stop it.
Of course it can be done at a national scale. Those charging stations can be put anywhere. They started to do in California, Its rather easy. All it is is an electrical out let, until BIG OILS claws into it and squashed that initiative out.
These are all just excuses and propaganda to slow the EV movement
