The VP debate has just wrapped up and I have, for the first time, really listened to Senator Joe Biden. Of the four runners in this election, his words are the only ones that I actually think I believed. So far, I am an undecided voter. I am a registered Republican, and typically lean in that direction, but this election has me stumped. Let me explain:

The Republicans. Senator McCain is an extremely respectable man for what he has accomplished in his life but he is 72 years old. As of 2007, 60% of the US population was between 20 and 64 years old. I'm 25 and I want someone I can relate to and who can see the world the way the majority sees it. Governor Palin is in over her head. I don't think poorly of her, but I don't see that she is ready to "take on" the lead role in our country just like the oil companies in Alaska. I like the idea of her, but I don't think she's ready for the big league.

The Democrats. Senator Obama appears to be a puppet on a string. I don't know what he is like as a person, only what he wants us to see. Does the man have any emotions? I don't get worked up and teary-eyed when I hear him speak, and if anything I turn down the volume. I don't think he is the next JFK. Sen. Biden is slightly older than 64, but there is something about him that I like. I can't quite pin it down, but when I listened to him speak, I did just that - listened. I did not scoff at his answers, like I did at both presidential candidates in their debate.

In summary, Sen. Biden is the only one of the four that I am comfortable with and, if he was #1 on the ticket, he would have my vote. But, this is not the case and I don't want to cast my vote only because of the VP pick. I am no closer to deciding where I will stand on November 4th. I can only hope that the upcoming debates will help me and those like me make a decision.

Sure there is, Dueceman, right wing kool-ade. It's what Rush, Anne and Sean drink.

I'm one of those pesky independents that both parties hate, because they have to come to the middle to get my vote.

Couldn't you have made it longer??? It's sad that the Pickens Plan website is the only outlet for some people. NOBODY reads those long BS statements. You are wasting time and space.
Hi Morgan, vote for Joe Biden by voting for Obama/Biden. The selection of VP is the single most important decision presidential candidates make in the campaign and Senator McCain did a last minute quick pick for a hockey mom (married to a six pack who has no national level experience and who's claim to fame is killing moose and maiming wolves), vs. Senator Obama's well studied, thoughtful, intelligent pick that hits the ball out of the park. Who do you want in the war room standing next to your next President when Vladimir Putin or Kim Jong Il or Mahmoud Ahmadinejad does something provocative: Senator Biden or first term Governor Palin? As a former Republican, for me this is a no brainer.
I will say that this is about the most civil exchange in dialog that I have found on a blog in a while. It is obvious that most of us are in the same boat. We do not really want either of the candidates, which has brought we to the collusion that the problem is bigger than which candidate should we vote for.

I will start with saying that we need to support the 171 in the house that voted against the bailout. That took guts. All of the power that is corrupting this political system was surely threating each of them. Yes, I said to support both democrats and Republicans, not because of their party, but rather for their actions.

All 454 seats are up for election, let's start with 171 that earned it and vote out the rest. We may be able to get a majority of folks in the house that will stand firm on what is right.

Now the president issue is a mess. We are told that we have to vote for A or B, when in fact there are over 250 candidants for president. Yes or 250. Why do we not know this? That is the biggest problem, in fact that is a bigger problem than the bailout, for without fixing this problem, elitist solutions will continue to be the norm.

If I may stay on the bailout topic for a little longer. There were some interesting ideas surfacing, but since our TV media is controlled by six corporations and the word was passed down to stop talking about such solutions and stop interviewing professionals, we were told by the boob tube, that this is what we had to do.

This current situation was created by a number of bad changes in regulations, policies and greed. Clinton made some bad moves while he was in office that helped greed run out of control and yes Obamas' associates at Acorn added greatly to the problem. We can not pin this on any one person or party, for if we could it would be Harry Reids, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank and Obamas pal Dobbs.

But we can not because there is Henry Paulson, Cox and the nasty BUSH, just to name a few.

All of the above need to be in prison and if I am lucky enough to be on the jury, they should be placed on death row. I am also against letting people stay on death row past one appeal. Some states are spending over 50 million a year housing thes criminals. I want that money to go toward a better energy policy.

Any way back to the election. We have two candidants that the same power brokers that forced the passage of the socialist bailout package, have told us is our ownly choice. The one thing that I know for sure is I do not want what they want me to have, for their motives are not about my best interest nor is it about yours. This control is the bigger problem. We just watched it take place over this bailout process and this one cost us 700 billion dollors, so far.

Paulson came out with the same fear technique that BUSH has used so masterfully, which has cost us trillions. Panic, panic, panic. It was so bad and happening so fast that he was lucky to get three pages typed. Bull crap. This mortgage mess was no secret, we all knew that it was going to be a big problem. It was brought up on the floor of the senate many times, including by McCain and even Paulson of all people.

We know that many of our government representives had large investments at stake, crazied Paulson's past firm Goldman Sacs had a 20 billion dollar stake in AIG, he got his phone call, which helps to explain the look on his face.

When McCain said he was going to DC to straighten this mess out, I had hope. I was studing the issue and listening to the experts and saw several good options on the table, so when he mentioned an alternitive plan, I felt that I knew he was going to prove to be my candidate. Instead he yielded to the power in charge, voted yes and came moping away. I wouldn't doublt that he was threatened and maybe even got a call from his wifes accountant. He should have stold firm, at least in a fair world. The message was that all that voted in favor was going back home and tell their (sheep) voters that it was in their best interest and that media would turn against him as dictated by the corporations that owned them. And if they turned the hate that people were going to feel on him he could forget about being president or even remaining a senator. Guess he should have sent Palin.

I had even a bigger issue with Obama, who was in his ussual form, he is all about being a candidate. They didn't need his vote, why should they, he never votes for much of anything. I did not like the way he came away from DC, he had the image that he got what he wanted, he was just trying not to be openly associated with it.

One snake and one that found that that the power brokers involved meant business and were not going to let him interfer. He did make a lot of calls trying to muster up support to no avail, everyone he called were getting their orders and threats. Back to what I was saying, it is what was going on behind the scenes, is our bigger problem. Those that are really running this country are ussually a lot smoother in how they manipulate. We got to see them in action.OOCH!!!!!!!!!!!

So what do we do? It could be that the stars have lined up, if only the people in this country were not so brained washed, no offense, these people have spend trillions during the course of our life time on that brain washing.

Even though Paulson is going to try to spend all of that money in the next three months and Bush will be helping, along with the democrats mentioned above, it is possible to turn it all around. And we who have united under this common cause of finding energy solutions, are a good place to start. If you really want to be do'ers and want to make your life better and your country safer and stronger and would really like to get off Opec's oil, it will take different kind of thinking.

Rule number one, you must resist all forms of media, they are some very tricky players. They will lie to you, threaten you and try to turn your neighbors against you. Oh, yea there will be many die hard democrats and republicans that will call you real nasty names, just bounce over to a hard left site like MotherJones.com for a sample of just how nasty people can be.

I am thanking god that that America was able to see first hand the curruption that we are dealing with. These folks will openly steal from you, they will start wars for profit, pollute your water for profit, enact laws to protect their control, well let's just say they are evil. They are the terriost that we should fear the most. But do not have to fear anyone, if we pull together. There is no company that we can not break and no politician that we can not remove.

Here goes, it will likely sound like a long shot to most at first, but it is do able. Hold that anger that you are feeling about the coruption that you have just witnessed, hold that contempt that you are feeling over this election process and know that you are likely heading toward a depresion. It took 25 years to fully recover from the last one. It is now or it will be up to yours kids to take charge.

A debate is to be held in New York for some of the third party candiates, they have agreed that the winner of that debate is to represent all third parties and all others are to fully support the winner. They are to instruct their supports to all PUSH for this candidate. Yes, everyone is invited to partisapate, unlike the election that you have been following with discontent. You can watch the debate, vote online and help chose the winner. If it makes you feel better, you can still come back to the present controlled party. Isn't nice to be given choices. What a concept.

There are still a couple open media's out there. I suggest that we all start with contacting Lou Dobbs on CNN,(by the way you can find some alternative answers to the bailout on his website www.LouDobbs.com) and have him hold the debate on his TV program and then have the winner that you have chosen on both his daily TV program and his 3 hour radio program everyday until Nov. 4th. Meanwhile, have experts on financing, energy and all of the other topics that affect our lives on his program to discuss with this candidate so that we can hear all of the answers that best serve us, the people. The topics and answers that main stream media has been instructed to keep quite about.

Take all of the forward thinking public like members of the Pickens Plan and all of the groups that we all belong to, along with all of the third party supporters and hit every worthy blog with relavent information, sending the public, democrats and republicans, college campuses, minorities, churches, ect to Lou's program, website and radio to experience a choice. Anyone that would at least look, doesn't deserve freedom from tyranny.

Hit it and hit it hard for the next month. Spread the word at work, email everyone you know, enlist all family members. In the states that are allowing registering, get these people to take a listen and vote. There are enough people that will not vote in this election, as long as there are only these two candidates, to win an election.

It is do able. Oh, so you are doubtful. Ok, surely you will buy into the idea that this type of movement will sure shack status quo. Yes, you have the strenght and they know it, but also know that you are to divided, you will not apply effort and they have you paying big money so that you will tune into their control box to listen to their lies and fear tactics.

There are some very large discontent groups out there, that may surprise you, given the chance.

The president office is open, the vice president, treasurer, all 454 seats in the house and 33 of the 100 in the senate. And we have 171 house members that said that they are for you, to start with. Another 128 good people and the people control the house. You have also sent a message to the remaining 77 in the senate.

People we can not be democrats and republicans any longer, that is one way of keeping us divided, we are Americans (at least today we still are ), we want elected statesmen again. We want an environment that will attract people like yourselves to run for office. We need to change our election process, so that we the people get what is best for us, not best for the few or best for other countries.

It is late and I can not remember, which of the fore fathers said that Americans can have anything that they want, it just doesn't appear that they want much.

You want new clean energy, more jobs, better jobs, better education, more nutritional food, indepedance from oil controlly countries, lower taxes, ect... Most everything that you could want better has been available, but you will get it until you change who gets to decide.

Maybe all you want is to stop being lied to, stop being taken advantage of, opportunity to succeed, less stress in you life or maybe just better TV programing, what ever it is, is within your grasp. Not to sound like Paulson, but it must be done NOW.

Good night and God Bless.

Mr. Awareness
Mr Awareness,
Are you AWARE of how long and tedious your rant is?? I am.
Nice post, but McCain was not part of it.
David, YOU are RIGHT ON. There's a lot more Senator Obama knows about it too, but he wisely shuffled off Raines behind the green curtain as soon as his $90 million dollar golden parachute was exposed last April, and he suddenly went from the primary advisor to the Obama campaign, to an "un-salaried consultant" to the Obama campaign.

Very good and accurate post.
Hey Morgan

I would like nothing more than to sway your vote, but the truth is you have to do what you think is right for your own values.
Know body likes to make a bad decision, however once one has been made a person has only to survive from the fallout from that decision.
I've met a lot of democrats who voted for George Bush the second time around because they thought it was the right thing to do. (because we were in a war with a country building weapons of mass destruction)
Those same people now are now suffering for their decision, and they tell me they clearly see the same characteristics in John McCain, this is a man of war.
This mans time has come and gone he is with out a dought a war hero and this alone should be his legacy.
Governor Palin is all make believe, she was picked as vp merely to grab up Hillary supporters that want a woman in the white house. (she is a pretty lady with a nice smile and some down home attitude)
Barrak Obama has his hands full and if you watch the man and his actions you will see a man at ease with himself, he speaks clearly with no hesitation with total confidence in himself.
That alone says alot about the character of a man, he faced McCain at that debate and the TV networks showed a split screen of the two canidates.
72 year old McCain the Maverick with years and years of senate debate under his belt lost that debate, he echoed over and over we have to win this war.
I'm a war hero, I have been in the trenches. (I don't recall McCain ever looking at Obama)
Obama won the debate with truth and confidence in himself and the answers he spit out.
I have to say I have been in the shoes of Joe Biden when it comes to being a single parent, I am a single parent of twins and its tough.
To be a single parent it takes alot of self confidence, and determination.
A man or woman that has been a single parent knows that things are different in their decision making, no other adult will decide whats best for their children its only up to you.
when a single parent makes a decision it is a calculated one, one with little risk so that your children won't suffer if it ends up not being a good decision.
During the debate between Biden and Palin, Palin put on alot of good down home folksy humor and side stepped some of the questions.
Biden actually showed his years of experience, something McCain could not seem to draw on.
When it comes down to it Morgan, if McCain dies of a heart attack or from old age Palin will run this country.
If something happens to Obama, Biden will run this country you be the judge.
Morgan, Joe has run a few times and got no where. I live in maryland and have a saying about delaware. it just a drive through. Don't they have more chickens then people?

I feel sorry for whoever makes pres. There will be no money. World wide recession then in 2 to 3 years we get to play tag with Iran. Since Iran can now get a satellite in low orbit , good chance they will hit Israel, Iraq and Saudi.

This is the reason we are in Iraq and Afgani. Iran is in the middle. We need bases.

but maybe because Ronald RAYGUN had enough foresight to kick off star wars maybe we can intercept

I urge all young people. take a history class, and macro micro econ.
The only way to a good life is

A. Hard work
B. White Collar Crime
Anybody count how many times: OIL, ENERGY, CNG, LPG, BATTERY POWER, ELECTRIC CARS, ETC are NOT mentioned on these discussions?? Talk is cheap and this page proves it with all the long and tedious rants and raves. I joined this site to help us get off imported oil and commercialize viable alternatives, not to ruin my eyesight scrolling past all this BS.
Morgan,

I haven't seen any action on this thread for a while, but I thought I'd get on and give you a little encouragement (not advice.) I hope you haven't been put off by the bickering on the site, politics brings out a lot of emotion in people, but then it should. This is an important thing we are doing.

Whoever you vote for, I hope you have done your homework and have peace of mind. I can tell you that this has been the most difficult decision of all the presidential elections I have participated in, even though I made up my mind early.

Good luck and keep the faith.

Ray
