Residential Wind Turbines

These new patent pending rooftop mount kits that I am building are great. The profile is pretty sleek and attractive and the systems leverage wind and solar together in a hybrid system. The system is actually a home appliance and doesn't really stand out much more than an antennae, chimney, or satellite dish. This makes a nice clean way for homeowners to get into the clean energy movement. The systems are inexpensive, easy to install and scaleable.

These systems have wind/solar built right in. They come with solar panels that you can wire it right in. Since your wind is stronger in the winter months, sun is stronger in the summer months, we designed a system that is attractively priced, that gives as even flow of energy as possible year round. Wind power scales down in size to be perfectly feasible for a homeowner sized system to provide power for your home. Whether you just power a few appliances or the whole house, we can design a system for you.

I have used these systems to save money on electricity costs and that's what I do for others. Most systems pay for themselves in 7 to 10 years and they last for 25 or 30 years before needing a rebuild. We put together complete system kits of matching components. Takes all the guesswork out of it.

Permalink Reply by Home Wind Turbine on December 14, 2008 at 5:55pm: Well, to get the maximum tax credit, of $4000, you will have to buy almost $13,000 worth of hardware. BUT, the way it is worded is... $500 per 1/2kw OR 30% whichever is less. Up to $4,000 cap on the credit. So, the kit for a boathouse starts at $2450. Unless you have a gigantic boathouse with huge power needs, the $2450 kit should do the trick. That's a 700watt kit that charges an off-grid battery system. That system will handle a boathouse very well, you will require little to no power from the grid with that system. Email me and we can evaluate it and do all the homework.

You're not planning on selling these to the everyday paycheck to paycheck worker who would, most likely, benefit the most from the savings, are you?
Here's what I feel is happening: You want all this support for this renewable energy. You want us to rally, spread the word, get people involved, go to all the effort to write letters to get legislation changed....and for what?
Would I, myself, ever be able to afford one of your wind turbine kits? NO.
Would any of my neighbors....probably not.
Perhaps you should screen your members by their income because these turbines sure aren't priced to sell to the majority of the population.
I wholeheartedly agree with the Pickens Plan concept but I'm having trouble digesting the outrageous prices you're asking for these kits!!
Pay attention! If you're wondering why more people aren't jumping on this bandwagon....I can guarantee you, the unaffordability of what we're fighting for is the reason we aren't more enthusiastic.
All this brings to mind the old American adage; 'The rich get richer........'

Sure, you are right, not all can afford these systems, but just like owning a home or any other long term investment that makes sense, not all can buy their own home. Doesn't make it a bad idea or bad investment for those who can afford it. Nor should we go about advising that no-one should buy a home because many cannot afford it. Sound long term investments make sense for those who can afford them. It does take 7 to 10 years for most people to recoup the investment.

I too wish all could afford to put in the systems. I myself sold one of my cars to finance my first prototype systems at my home. So, as far as "Rich get Richer" that's not my situation for sure and the amount of profit after manufacturing and supporting such a high quality system will not be making ME rich for a long long time. The fact I sold one of my cars to finance my first system is a testament to how strongly I believe in the investment and technology that I have developed. We are a blue collar company and for me, it's not about being a rich guy throwing money around to make more.

I believe in this and promote it based on what it does for me. In a few years I am sure that like all other new and wonderful technology, the costs will come down with volume over time. Then more people can jump in.; ▶ Reply to This

Is that machine about a meter in diameter? If so, we can call it about 50kWh/month in a class 3. That's 600kWh per year at, say, twelve cents per kWh, or $72 per year in production......even if we use a pretty steep inflation rate for grid-produced electricity, I still can't figure out how you come up with 7 to 10 years.

Please clarify....a power curve, estimated energy production, and a cash flow model would go a long way towards supporting your claims. Thanks in advance.; ▶ Reply to This
