Congratulations all you naysayers who screamed that Photo Voltaic panels are ten years out from being practical. Hooray for you, all you nuclear proponents, and all your Drill Drill Drillers who have been infesting this website since its inception, trying to talk us out of our convictions. Oil has dropped, falsely, to $37 a barrel, and our opportunity, for now is gone, to promote the use of CLEAN RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES, like sun, wind, and wave.
You won this round. But the fight is not over. SO go ahead, rev up the Hummer engine and casst dispersions of the poor demented patriotic pioneer in your neighborhood who is going ahead with the PV solar panel installation.
It may take another oil crisis, but we will not be going away.

I see from your photo that you have some kind of mutation, and no nose. Do you work at THree Mile Island? My sympathies.

<<I'm a sun you silly goose.'>>

Ya know, you would THINK that someone who pushes SO HARD to promote the sun (solar power) would be able to recognize a graphic rendition of that icon. BUT, she is SOOO bent on hurling epitaphs at people who do not see things from the view of her front porch that she makes a fool of herself at times.

Obviously, she is not a customer of Big Oil. But if she were, I bet she would have a CITCO card.

Lets see if she gets the significances of THAT comment.

Hello Auntie Tutu,

I look in on your thread(s) every now and then and thank you for your providing your real life experiences. You have swayed me to add solar panels for my systems.

I think that we understand that each situation needs to be looked at and adjusted to each of those situations.

My little wind generator does great, but the wind does not blow all the time. I now know that solar panels will help. I also know that we have days/weeks/months with little sun combined with little wind. So the generator comes into play also. We have cut our battery charging bill by a lot with just the wind gen., and hope that the solar will enable us to complete that part of our electrical needs and thus put us with over 80% of of 120 VAC needs on these two systems. For us, that is about $400. US per month off of our grid electric bill, the bulk of which is for battery charging.

Thank you for staying on PP and doing what you can.

Regards, ADR (American in the Dominican Republic)

While some people are useless impersonators of wit minus the wisdom, you are right as rain when these antagonists are confronted by other people who stand for something instead of the same old same old. Anyone with even a twinge of common sense knows that nuclear is not a viable solution not only for the fact that it's waste is anything but safe or green, while the dance that the slimy oil people support also just keeps people "energy prisoners". Keep up what these critics call your ranting. They don't know what the truth feels like even when they get hit in their big mouths with it!
