PickensPlan

The conversation here is so exciting, being involved in the energy business I know something must be done to save the future for our children and generations to come . I have been looking into alternative energy projects for some time. I see so much talk but so little action. The Pickens Plan is a real step but if the government and big business don't get behind this and other types of alternative energy will it really have some effect? How can we make our government take action?

You have to convince them and make them want to change. I don't care who you are, noone likes to be made to do anything.

Irrefutable facts would be good too.
Yes, this is so true!. It seems no one moves forward unless there are millions of dollars to be made.
I just heard about new cars that run on water. Is that possible and what ever happened to all the talk about cold fusion, being a new form of cheap energy. I guess no one found a way to make money on it.I think wind power is the way to go but we need to be looking for other new ,groundbreaking forms of energy!
I think that moving forward with wind power is great, but are there other forms of alternative energy we should be looking into.
"Cars that run on water" is not possible. Energy is always conserved and any benefit received by converting water into it's components to be used as fuel is overshadowed by the energy required to do so, ie much more energy is put into the system than you get out.

"Cold fusion" was not able to be reliably reproduced by independent researchers and was therefore debunked. I believe more research is being done in that field (electrochemistry) to fully understand the phenomena, but nothing concrete has come out of the research yet.

Yes there are a lot of alternative forms of energy out there, but we have yet to find a reliable, predictable, on-demand source beyond the traditional sources. Wind is a good energy displacement device, but it will never become an energy replacement device. The same goes for solar and some of the other front runners. Don't get me wrog though, they all will have a place in our future.
I dont understand , i found this crazy video on yahoo, This guy says the car runs on hydrogen from water!
is he nuts
I have heard the stories about cars that run on water as well.... seems like there is something to look into there.
Would be nice if it was true! But I wouldn't be buying extra water right now. As for Cold Fusion, I like others got really exiited about the possiblities back when it was in the news. Seems like people are still trying to get it to work. I recently heard about a company that seemed to be having some success. I think the process was called SuperwaveFusion. Has anyone heard of this. Well going to pour some water into the tank and head to the office.
