See what I mean (tourism beaches pollution ) 62% from natural oil seepage. 32% from recreational boating. Most beaches closed due to animal and human waste. see below the same old do nothing call them I do every day

Thanks for contacting me about drilling for oil and gas in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) and on the Outer Continental Shelf. It's nice to hear from you.



Gas prices are putting a tremendous burden on family budgets at a time when they are already stretched and I agree that we must do much more to become energy independent. But I believe there are many other ways to lower energy costs and lessen dependence on foreign oil.

Drilling off our coasts threatens coastal communities that rely heavily on tourism, while drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge would devastate one of our nation's last pure wilderness areas while not adding significantly to our domestic supply. The Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimates that it will require 8 to 10 years after opening ANWR before oil is produced from any new leases and it would be 20 years after opening ANWR before oil production reached its peak of only 780,000 barrels per day, an amount that would quickly begin to decline. Drilling in ANWR would not significantly increase total world oil production, impact world oil prices, or bring us anywhere close to producing what we use. The United States consumes a quarter of the world's fossil fuels, but only possesses 3 percent of its reserves.

Anybody want to fight the one on 3 percent of it reserves???????


The United States needs a long-term energy plan that balances traditional sources of energy with alternative energy sources and conservation. That's why I voted to increase the efficiency of cars and trucks (P.L. 110-140) and to suspend the filling of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (S.Amdt.4737) through December 2008.

Efficiency 35 mpg 2020 come on I already have been getting that...
Suspend filling the SPR (less than a dimple on a pimple)

I am also a cosponsor of the Consumer First Energy Act (S. 3440). This bill would create tough new federal protections to guard against profiteering and market manipulation by oil and gas companies, create a temporary windfall profits tax on oil companies reaping record profits, and prevent commodity traders of U.S. crude oil from routing transactions through off-shore markets to evade speculative limits.

Yup again the speculators Call up Hugo, brazil, nigeria , Iran etc to cause fear
and they tell americans not to conserve

While we disagree on this particular issue, I know we share the same goals - lower energy costs and less dependence on foreign oil.

I wonder what will finance all of this since fannie and freddie will cost us 5 trillion.
Could we build floating Solar systems in space and beam the energy down?

You assume that Reid and Pelosi have the best interest of the American people at heart, and therefore they can be reasoned with to "see the light" on drilling, that's a fallacy!

Reid and Pelosi are beholding to left wing environmentalist groups and 527 organizers like George Sorros; they have little regard for the rest of us. In fact, since most of the Democrat constituancy comes from the poorest segments of America they consider the potential for making more of us poor from high energy costs as a way to increase the ranks of registered Democrats!

yes i agree but it is part of my anger management all I can do if write and conserve at home.

Also its like wamu when your late on a payment , they just keep calling and calling and never give up till you send money.

I do enjoy the same canned responses.

At least 50K of us are thinking about it.


Oh the dems make a good bit poor in the Big cities run by them Balt 73% drop out rate. If I was black or white kid in the city I would sue them. There is no excuse. knowledge is power. We need these kids for smart labor, They are our future.

The real plan I suspect is take away the pitch fork, dumb them down then they have no clue. everybody will be the same in the world except for asia who will take over.

This plan will not work for one very simple but definite reason. IT HAS NO TEETH!!! Politians will still do what they want to do and that usually means what is best for their party and their own pockets. Big money and Big corporations have their ear and their wallets. This is the way it is. You have to understand this premises first and foremost, before you formulate any plan. Your's or Ginrich's or any other plan absolutely will not work unless it has teeth and calling your Senator or Congressman is not a way to get any elected officials attention. Your wasting you time and a ton of money. My plan is alot better and will work much faster than the Pickens Plan. If the same amount of money was spent on my plan, gas prices would be down, the economy would be up and alternative sources of energy would be sought out at a pace that wake up everyone and put fear in the hearts of OPEC. But I support Mr. Pickens and his efforts. He is right, we must do something and right now..

When President Bush asked congress 3 years ago to increase funding for Alternative Energy . It took congress 2 years to get it done.

If that is the case why the heck do we vote.
I made change happen on a 12 billion dollar project at IRS, My team saved the tax payers 5 million a year and we got the system running at 99.9 %. it takes back bone, hard work and My team never gave up.

Yes we need 100 million calling every day.

If I was young I would be a roughneck make more than I do now.

Interesting and I learn more each time I watch.

By the way an old friend of mine said back in the mid 70's conversion kits to propane and nat gas were available but with limited fill and the price of product ie oil going down, Along with hyper carter inflation it never took off. Ah history always has a lesson. I think I will call Honda and propose fill stations at their dealerships that should help double the outlets in metro areas and get some into places like WV. If we could double them in 5 years that would really help while production finally get to the numbers we need. GM say the Volt will be out in about 2 years. Maybe longer since they are short on cash. How long does it take to get 500,000 cng cars to market.

it takes 7 to 10 years to turn over 70% of the cars on the road.

Call The Speaker and Reid even if it does not help it is still fun.
and a great way to sell that new civic NG.

In April I was able to get a 30 minute meeting with Senator Harry Reid and his energy adviser Chris Miller in Washington. We discussed 30%- 40% increase in wind turbine efficiency and our energy reducing pumps that could reduce the electricity consumption of the US by 10%. The technology is waiting right now to be taken up. How do we keep pressure on?

Some of the answers are right under our noses. The USA has some of the brightest scientific minds that already have researched and proven the answers to the major alternative energy questions.

We can give you the names of the scientists in the United States in your leading research institutes.

Wind turbine blade lift is increased 3 times employing the Coanda Effect. This can result in 30%- 40% increase in wind turbine efficiency.

NASA, Ames wind tunnel work resulting in a PHD thesis shows significant blade lift increase. Office of Naval Research (ONR) regularly increases wing lift 3 times. Our own work is being done here in Australia by us and University of New South Wales (UNSW.), where the push is from Prof Ahmed Noor (see attachment). Is anyone prepared to assist Prof Noor by organizing a fact presenting tour to interested alternative energy groups in the US? Perhaps a meeting with T, Boone. It is possible and desirable to bring universities together so research is not duplicated.

Pelosi has proven that she will ignore the wishes of the American people in favor of who ever she is working for. She, along with Feinstein, continues to work to get amnesty for illegal aliens passed and to drastically increase the number of foreign worker visas even though 70% of the people oppose these measures. She is one of the many public servants who have forgotten who they work for and thinks that she is untouchable. The only way to reach her is to get her out of office.

Reid, on the other hand, will succumb to public pressure if enough of it is brought to bear.

Oil companies have been sitting on drilling permits for a decade or more and not drilling. They have plenty of places to drill already. They are making more money than they ever have by reselling foreign oil and they have no incentive to make the investment. Even now, everyone is saying drill except the ones who would be doing the drilling. The idea that bans on drilling have something to do with the price of oil is the result of an effective PR campaign that the corporate owned mainstream media has gone along with. Drilling will not be part of the solution. Replacing oil as an energy source will.
