PickensPlan

In the so-called "plan" hyped on this site, there is a section entitled "How do we get it done?"

Unfortunately, there is NOTHING in that section that discusses how ANYTHING gets done.

This isn't a plan at all. Its nothing more than hype. At what point to we see some real meat in this poor excuse of a plan?

Do a little reading and you will see that Pickens has stated that details are forth coming. He's putting down the big blocks now saying that his plan has a heavy focus on wind and solar to offset the use of NG at power stations. Then changing over automobiles to CNG which we have in abundance here in the U.S.

I too wish that he would have come out with more details right away, but this is his calculation to make people want to continue to return and build fervor for the changes. If you know anything about TBP, he does nothing without a full plan. In this case, that includes the disbursement of information. He's putting his money where his mouth is paying for the ad campaign to coincide with the politics of the day in an effort to try and build something that won't be easily dismissed by candidates at any level.
Live chat with Mr. pickens just ended. I submitted about 15 questions. None of them was answered. Here are some of them...

Mr. Pickens, Clean Energy has acquired Fuelmaker's Vehicle Refueling appliance for the Home called PHILL. Will you make it affordable? $6000 to get it installed in my home prices it out of the reach of most.
-------------------------------------
How many homes are currently using natural gas to heat their homes? How many of those families would buy a Vehicle Refueling appliance for the Home if it was affordable?
----------------------------------------
For Walmart to setup CNG stations wouldn't it take a demand from consumers first? Where will the demand come from if it isn't from those who have CNG cars. I'd be driving a CNG car right now if Clean Energy's PHILL, a Vehicle Refueling appliance for the Home, was affordable.
-------------------------------------------
The Pickens Plan gave me no hope until I saw that I could fuel my CNG car at home using PHILL a Vehicle Refueling appliance for the Home. I was crushed to find out it would cost $6000 to have it installed in my garage. Will you make it affordable?
----------------------------------------
Your company owns PHILL a "Vehicle Refueling appliance" (VRA) for the Home. If you're serious about getting us off of foreign oil how can you be selling PHILL for so much?

I need answers to these questions. I'm ready to be the "CNG Evangelist" of Fort Wayne if I have a PHILL that I can afford.

If you feel like me lets be friends and put pressure on Mr. Pickens to make PHILL affordable.
What you can do to start the Ball Rolling...

Become a Lobbyists for AMERICAN ENERGY INDEPENDENCE. Reliance on Foreign Oil is a Threat to our National Security Greater than any Terrorist Activity... Rep John Peterson Pennsylvania 7/16/08 CSPAN

We have to drown out the foreign oil Lobbyists in Washington. Collectively We have to become the VOICE for changing our reliance on foreign oil, by Vocalizing our Support for the wide scale use of Alternative Energy Producing Systems.

The ACTION we can take Today is to influence our LEGISLATURE. We must change the thinking in Washington. This is accomplished by CONTACTING your Senator, Representative, Governors.

The following links to Websites are one way of Contacting Congress. I find these links to be the quickest at getting to the "contact web form" used by most of Washington.

SENATORS:
http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm
and look for the link to their web form

Representatives:

To Contact Your Governor:

The point is this:

At this point, the "plan" consists of:

1. Build wind generator farms
2. Make better use of natural gas.

Fine. Both of the above are well within the ability of an investor like Mr. Pickens. I fail to see the need or requirement to lobby congress. There is nothing stopping Mr. Pickens from investing his money in wind generator farms or investing in the manufacture of cars that run on natural gas as well as more re-fueling stations. If in fact both wind generator farms and cars the run on natural gas are economically viable, then people should flock to buy both in droves if they cost less than oil.

Why involve the congress and senate, which will only slow things down? Do it if it is economically viable.

Both are business investments that don't require either congressional or senatorial approval or concurrence. If Mr. Pickens wants to do the above two things, then he should just do them.
This plan is great. Did you watch the video? If you have a suggestion let's here it. I am not going to be negative about this. I have faith that this will be a plan we can get our future president behind. Do we really have a choice? Deb
I too am trying to find information of what 'the plan' actually is. Maybe I am too hard-headed, but I can't logically support something if I don't first know what it is that I'm supposed to be supporting. I have supported alternative energy since the late 60s, and I personally lived several years off the grid. The idea of 'green' is nothing new to many of us.

In what way is 'the plan' different than what was preached in the 60s, 70s, and 80s? Is Mr. Pickens using the government as a means of forcing alternative energy on the public since the public will not accept it any other way, or is there a different reasoning behind 'the plan?'

I personally like Mr. Pickens, but liking or disliking someone is not reason enough to get involved in an activity that affects the whole nation. I hope that very soon the public will be given specifics about 'the plan' so that we can determine exactly what it is that we will be forced to live with.
