PickensPlan

The moderators of these forums should delete postings that are primarily ad hominem attacks and don't focus on Pickens' plan or otherwise make constructive comments. Personal and partisan attacks are counterproductive and only serve to delay progress.

An intelligent discussion should focus on the plan itself and related facts. Forum participants should be able to specifically identify concerns, questions and objections about the plan and, where possible, offer constructive comments.

Demagogues and those who fear change will resort to personal attacks on the plan's proponents. And because some people are just too lazy to read and evaluate the plan, they will instead resort to attacking those who have the courage and initiative to do something. This leads to time-wasting exchanges that do not move the ball down the field.

There are many discussion forums on the WWW where people can post personal and partisan attacks, paranoid conspiracy theories, debunked notions, and elaborate rationales for subordinating credible solutions to their own pet idea.

I agree wholeheartedly, although I am using your answer to the Kansas rant as a point of departure to contact you... I'm wondering:

I am curious just where Lee Iacoca stands on the Pickens plan. I read his recent book where he decried the lack of leadership in our nation today. Boon seems to exemplify the kind of leader he was calling for, a self made man, courageous, a man of character and as far as I can see, a great communicator. Maybe Lee has a lot to contribute to this campaign. Your thoughts?
That's a good question. If they don't know each other, somebody needs to get them together!

You've probably already been to these sites:
http://www.leeiacocca.com/
http://www.leeiacocca.com/contact-me/index.aspx (contact form)
http://www.iacoccafoundation.org/
Has ANYONE seen or heard from the webmaster or any MOD?

I have used two of the "buttons" at the bottom of the page three times to report a couple of things and never saw any changes or response at all.
They have provided an excellent discussion forum, but if they don't find people to proactively moderate this, the discussions will frequently devolve into pointless and banal exchanges (and spam).
