The moderators of these forums should delete postings that are primarily ad hominem attacks and don't focus on Pickens' plan or otherwise make constructive comments. Personal and partisan attacks are counterproductive and only serve to delay progress.
An intelligent discussion should focus on the plan itself and related facts. Forum participants should be able to specifically identify concerns, questions and objections about the plan and, where possible, offer constructive comments.
Demagogues and those who fear change will resort to personal attacks on the plan's proponents. And because some people are just too lazy to read and evaluate the plan, they will instead resort to attacking those who have the courage and initiative to do something. This leads to time-wasting exchanges that do not move the ball down the field.
There are many discussion forums on the WWW where people can post personal and partisan attacks, paranoid conspiracy theories, debunked notions, and elaborate rationales for subordinating credible solutions to their own pet idea.
