let start talking about this if it works why dont we have it on all cars ??has anyone seen this i think it works but i dont have proof positive does anyone ??
There is no scientific reason to believe that on board production of hydrogen by electrolysis works as claimed. None. Independent lab tests on commercial units indicate that they do absolutely nothing to either increase fuel mileage or reduce emissions. I have done several years worth of research into electrolysis and feel pretty qualified to make that statement.
Hmm. I'm not sure that it works as claimed either. I don't think that would increase fuel mileage or reduce emissions. But I only know what I have picked up reading stuff.
You, Mike and all the other "techno know it all's" should go critique some other ideas and lay off HHO generators. The technology is viable! Mike, go get a DC alternator.
"What they fail to understand or accept is that by adding a hydrogen-oxygen mix to the fuel system in an internal combustion engine increases the combustion of the gasoline (or diesel) due to the high volatility of hydrogen-oxygen mix, which leads to a more complete burn of the primary fuel. The extra energy which gives the better fuel economy results is coming from the unburned fuel as well as better engine compression."
Unfortunately, this is wrong. The computers that control the air to fuel mixture do not have extra oxygen to allow the "better burn". You can get a better burn by leaning out the fuel / air mixture (reducing the fuel). You can't use the added oxygen from the Brown's gas, since it is taken up by the hydrogen. However, leaning out the mixture results in more pollution. Adding Brown's gas to the engine reduces the amount of oxygen available to burn the gasoline. Normal air is about 19% oxygen & 80.5% nitrogen. If you add 2% Brown's gas, you reduce the amount of air entering the engine (unless you mess with the oxygen sensor and some other things like the fuel injectors). This reduces the amount of oxygen available to burn the gas, although the oxygen sensor could think there is more, since it doesn't send the hydrogen.
Other sites claim that the Brown's gas speeds up the combustion of the gasoline, increasing the efficiency of the engine. Since there is less oxygen available, there would be more unburned gasoline at the end of the cycle, reducing the engine efficiency.
You are so right Michael, check out the video on my home page. That one was bought up by the Military and Ford. Vehicles coming out in late 2009 and early 2010.
That's not nearly correct Mike, Get your research updated, seriously dude. The military bought it large, have a Hummer coming out with 50% water power in early 2010, some project now, late 2009.
Stanley,
You are referring to hydrogen. There are it seems two ways to go about it.
1- Hydrogen fuel 'cell'. That one from what i have been reading is tough. They say it takes fossil fuel to make it,So that to me does not make sense. (google How to make hydrogen).
2-The water part with 'retrofits' you can get today.
(google that also). But to make it takes electrolysis. And that takes what?(Google 'how stuff works) Let me know what you think.
........Tomo
The water "retrofits" are scams. I takes more energy to create the HHO (Brown's gas) that you can get back by burning it. Even if you add it to a gasoline engine, because it would reduce the amount of air entering the engine and causing some of the gasoline to not burn.
See my other posts on this subject.
because it would reduce the amount of air entering the engine and causing some of the gasoline to not burn.
What?
Yeah...
It replaces Atmosphere with : Hydrogen, the smallest molecule in the Elemental Table, that's why it's # 1, Uno... 1 Electron + 1 Proton, a highly combustible gas which gets inbetween the complex hydro-carbon molecules, like a spark-plug, igniting them + PURE Oxygen, which of course, supports, and accelerates the combustion for a more complete, and cleaner BURN of the Fuel!!!
