LOL....anyone who trusts this guy is either a sucker or a GOP Idiot!

He swiftboated Kerry, when Bush was a coward who flew jets around Texas. Even if you don't believe 100% of Kerry's story you have to admit Bush did a lot less than Kerry did. Actually Bush DID NOTHING during the war. But Pickens supported him. And Bush is dumb as a post.

And you think this guy is motivated to help the country? LOL.....I can see setting up some type of Halliburton type company so the government can hire this company and funnel money through it to "SOLVE" the energy crisis. While making millions for the new compamy.

And since he is a huge GOP supporter, I bet this will be an example the GOP uses to prove the GOP loves trying to stop global warming and getting off Oil.

If this was being sponsored by a democratic supporter then the right wing would be making fun of it.

Anyone who believes this is gullible as hell.

If anyone believes that politicians, from both sides, preventing American oil companies from drilling within the intercontinental shelf is going to prevent drilling in those areas you must be dreaming. There is countries other than the US out there drilling now and a lot more later. The politicians would rather other countries drill there and take our hard earned money to buy oil we should be drilling for ourselves just because they don't want the oil companies to make any more profits. So they add stupid stipulations like this to accomplish their mission.

Is this about wind and gas or water?

Look, this guy is first and foremost a business man! So, he obviously sees a huge profit here! That's great!!!!! Make money and help the planet at the same time. I have NO problem with this---at least he's DOING SOMETHING!!!!!!!!

As a registered Democrat, I object to this type of diatribe.. It adds nothing. It creates more animosity and just makes it harder to do what has to be done....which is a non-partisan effort that gets both sides working together.

You are right that Mr. Pickens is primarily motivated by money. He took another run to get this done....take a look at his plan to piggy back transmission lines on water lines that pump water from the fragile Ogallala Aquifer that feeds agriculture and cities from Southwest Texas to the Dakotas. Why? So he could get power of eminent domaine and not have to go through Texas Public Utilities Commission. Would he put the wind turbines on his own land....in his own words...NO! They are ugly. He'll put them on his neighbors. Most Conservatives in Texas are not at all impressed with Mr. Pickens' plan. Long before he started championing wind energy, many utility companies in Texas were quietly getting the job done.....with more turbines than Mr. Pickens plans. For me, a landowner who Mr. Pickens tried to bull dose and one with a belief that pumping water from water limited West Texas to the DFW metroplex is unethical, I will have no problem with the line if the Ogallala is off the table and Mr. Pickens will lead the charge to install the transmission lines in an environmental, and security suitable way....underground.

I suggest you read a bit more about Sen Kerry. Also read Henry Kissinger's books on diplomacy. Then you will understand the full impact of Sen Kerry. Kerry does indeed carry responsibility for some bad things. As far as comparing Kerry to Bush.....I believe Bush's college entrance scores were superior to Kerry's as well as having graduated with an MBA from a highly prestigious University. No small feat. Dumb? Like a fox! Kerry was an opportunists. But you are right in one thing, Pickens looks after himself first and formost.....he is not doing this for the country and is simply jumping on a bandwagon that has been going for quite some time. I will be impressed with Mr. Pickens if he leads a charge to put transmission lines underground a la European countries. Better for the environment, land owners, and national security.

Mr. Pickens is 80 years old. He will never see any personal benefit from any of this. How much longer do you people think he will live. Most of his money will go to charity. How much do you give to charity?

I applaud him for doing something constructive to help America get over its problems. Unlike some liberal whiners who do nothing but complain and try to tear him down.
Sure he supported the swift boaters. The guys from swift boat had legitimate concerns about Kerry. The guy was an opportunist. Also he had lower College scores than Bush did. Does that mean he was dumber than Bush. Using your logic he is.
It never ceases to amaze me just how stupid liberals are.

Oh Man, Blah Blah Blah. What gibberish and a waste of what's good about the site here. While many of you play around casting political stones, others are collaborating about the problem facing the country.

Don't run you mouths and talk smack, go get a wind turbine, solar panel, propane car, LED lightbulb, go do something besides talk political BS. And you know what, it doesn't matter if you like Boone, or believe in global warming, are a democrat, republican, whatever.

Guess What, family wind systems work for all of the above, and for the cost of a car, you can have one too. What does T Boone or John Kerry have to do with any of the things you need to act on?
