PELOSI......another great American dictator.

Obviously she is out of touch and out of her mind.

However public pressure will bring her down. The GOOD always wins over evil!

Dear Marc, Pelosi has never made much sense before and I would not expect her to ever be honest and make sense regarding energy needs and economics today. Craig
She might be an evil politician but, what makes drilling for fuel which pollutes the environment any less evil when, it would take years to see any result (if there even is a result) and environmentally-friendly renewable energy is available as an alternative?
Jose

Our economy needs energy to grow and provide your family and my family with a comfortable standard of living. We can not say that we are not adding to the pollution just because we are forced to buy our oil from foreign sources.

A TBP said we need every form of energy production and we need it now to stop exporting $700 billion to foreign governments. So Pelosi and the environmentalist are on the losing side of this issue. Americans will not give up their hard earned standard of living without a major battle. Politically speaking bodies will be everywhere as they voters have their will.
Lock,

You're absolutely right in saying that our economy needs energy. I believe it needs a lot. TBP also said we can't drill our way out of this problem. I would like to see our country get the energy from environmentally-friendly, renewable sources.

You want to help the economy and provide energy for our families. So do I. Renewable energy would do just that and then some. It would help the economy because we would employ many people in the U.S. to build the infrastructure and subsequently maintain it. Money would be going into the hands of the U.S. citizens that are doing the energy jobs and not into the hands of extremists in the Middle East. Also, we would have enemies with less money which would mean less of our money going into fighting them. After all is said and done, you have more domestic growth, an enemy with less money and a world with less pollution which equals a better place for our families.

Our country needs to stop sucking on the tailpipe and see the light.

Jose,

Pickens said "I am for drilling for gas and oil, wind, solar, nuclear, geothermal and any other source of energy production to end our reliance on foreign oil." All people would like to use renewable energy but it can not produce enough energy to replace more than 20% of our oil/gas needs in the next 5 to 10 years so we must develop nuclear and open all areas for oil and gas drilling.

It will take 10 to 20 years of diligent effort by the American people and goverments to achive energy independence.

"DO IT ALL AND DO IT NOW"
Lock,

It's obvious that we don't see eye-to-eye on drilling for more oil. You think it will make energy cheap. I think it will keep us on a path of self-destruction.

Where do we see eye-to-eye? Wind? Solar? Geothermal?

Why not come together on environmentally-friendly renewable sources of energy, THEN argue about fossil fuels later? Or, do you want to prevent those types of energy from being developed because we can't come to an agreement on drilling for oil?
Jose

I am for Do it all and do it now, make America independent. The market place will select the best solutions long term and that is 10 to 20 years out.

You want to limit our options, that will not make the earth a better place if we continue to buy oil from the Arabs.
Lock,

You are also limiting our options by not approving of each energy source on an individual basis.

Just because I'm against drilling does not mean I'm against energy.

You tell us that our choice is either:

1. Do it all and do it now.

or

2. Don't do it.

Couldn't our choices be:

Oil: Yes or No

Coal: Yes or No

Wind: Yes or No

Solar: Yes or No

Geothermal: Yes or No

Nuclear: Yes or No

Hydroelectric: Yes or No

Let's vote on each energy source individually and at least get some energy sources developed now.

Laws are laws and sadly, we're not going to be voting on oil because Speaker Pelosi won't allow it. Write her a letter. Call her office. Maybe it will work but, in the meantime, let's vote on wind and solar. I'm sure we can get her to approve a vote on those energy sources.

Why deny the citizens of the U.S. one energy source because your favorite energy source didn't get approval?
Jose

the reason is we have delayed action for 20 years and our choices left are very few. It is not ours to choose, America is under attack economically from all our enemies and even some of our so called friends.

Our economy will suffer more than you can imagine if we do not keep our energy production growing at a rate faster than the polulation. We are behind the energy eight ball. Look at New York and the north east total system failure, look at the overload in California causing a total system collapse. Neither has increased energy production enough to keep up with demand. They will fail again.

You simply need to review the current national polls; they all say 70% plus want to drill everywhere there is oil and gas. the public has decided it wants to be energy secure and have America produce the energy it uses.

Environmentalist against oil are not really for improving the total global system or they would not want to export the drilling to third world countries that have zero environmental concerns. So if you are against drilling in America where we have laws and support clean development you support pollution but not in your back yard.

You can not have it both ways. the only other option is cut energy use by 70% and reduce our standard of living. Do you wnat to live in 300 square feet with your family of four?
