You can see it by clicking here Pedal Pushers Online has been favoring Human Powered Transportation as fun and ecologically sound for many years now, It will be interesting to see how well I can integrate both of these passions.
"We The People" have been unified and moved with motivation in what ever direction we chose to move. Just look at what we did during WWII.>>
NICE sentiment Shane but historically and factually wrong. On the 6th of December, 1941 we as a nation were decidedly NON interventionist. We were seen around the world as isolationist. Every war we fought in was followed IMMEDIATELY by the standing down of a full army to levels of manpower and equipment barely able to keep a viable address on file for the Post Office to find them. Calls to arms, calls to save Britain by Roosevelt, were all met with "stay out, it is none of our concern". We, as a nation, could not see our interests in a foreign war.
But come the afternoon of December 7, 1941, the haze of non-intervention and isolationism was suddenly lifted. Not by OUR will or OUR desire to do what was right, but rather by that most ungracious of taskmasters, the will only to survive. Yes, we WERE successful in that endeavor, but NOT because WE made the right choice, but rather because the CHOICE was made FOR us. Fight or die!
Do we as a nation have that same ability today? Sure we do. But that is asking the WRONG question. The RIGHT question is this: Do we see this current threat to our way of living as a threat to our survival or just a threat to our inconvenience?
If the answer is the FORMER than we will do OK, but if the answer is the latter (as I fear it is) we can only be saved by shear dumb luck and some forward thinking marketers. And THAT is quite a revealing statement on a country's greatness.
