Hello, All...this is to Jack in Ardmore, OK: I used to travel up & down I-35 from Wichita, KS (where I resided from 1988 to 2007) to Dallas, TX --- so I do know where Ardmore is --- near the Arbuckle Mountains in south central OK. Please just keep sending email messages to your senators and representatives in the Oklahoma House. I will write a letter to my senator, Mr. Bill Nelson, here in Florida. I have already written to him about the foreign nations' buying of property in this country, prompting a report on CNN how this can be a national security issue. The foreign nations are using our "oil money" to finance their buying of U.S. assets (property). Who knows --- they may use these pieces of property for terrorist cells! I hope not, but it could occur. But I shall write Senator Bill Nelson about the Pickens plan as well....Keep up the good work!

Churches should be leaders in energy and environmental issues! This is the blog for St. John's Episcopal Church in Grand Haven, MI. Click on the Energy Issues category. I am urging my congregation to support the PickensPlan, and to assert its leadership in energy issues in our area of western Michigan.

As St.John's already does exemplary outreach in its geographical area relative to helping the poor and/or less fortunate, it would seem natural for them to take a leadership role in energy issues. Careful planning and a thoughtful strategy (paper, ink and think) should keep costs to a minimum and the benefits would be almost too great to comprehend.

An open discussion for the merits and contradictions concerning NG versus Bio-Diesel/Ethanol as the strongest bridge to a future of oil independence.

boone is right...10yrs ago we were complaining about gas being $1.50 a gallon...now it is $4.00...it is sickening...people cant afford to take a nice ride out in the country anymore...just wait untill the winter, when people need oil to heat their homes...many people are out of work (myself included)...something needs to give...we need to use the resources that this country has...and we are blessed to live in a land with abundant resources...its like throwing a gift from god, back in his face...the farm land of the midwest...we can make methanol from cow crap...ethanol from corn...and like boone said...harness the winds from the great plains...and drill for oil and natural gas in the gulf of mexico and in alaska...there is tons of uranium in the southwest for nuclear power...it is time for fossil feul to go the way of the dinosaur
