We have a home (subdivision) in the planning stages that uses a geothermal unit for heating and cooling, ccSPF (Honeywell - see attachment) for insulation with the home powered by photovoltaic Atlantis Energy Sunslates (also attached). The homes also have Solar Tubes to augment lighting along with LED lighting.
Fine Homebuilding, Jan., 2008 has an article (pg. 68) about our project and it is mirrored in Mother Earth News, May or June I think.
The homes have the capability to fully power themselves, sell excess power back to the grid and refuel your Tesla or GM "Volt" auto.
These ultra efficient homes will also have the ability as the technology becomes feasible to have a water fueled fireplace, ovens and ranges (Heat-N-Glow already has produced a water fueled fireplace) with the process of electrolysis of water, separating the hydrogen and oxygen, venting the oxygen and using the hydrogen as fuel, for the fireplace and cooking. Also, this may be used to re-fuel a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle.
This home will have a literal "Zero Carbon Footprint".
What we lack at this stage of the game is the initial capitol for the start-up. We project an $800,000.00 initial investment with an exit strategy of 16-18 months for an initial investor(s). If anybody has any comments or questions, we're welcome to all.

Doesn't this current situation create the opportunity to lead these inefficient corporations to economic prosperity by establishing a standard for Energy Independence for America?
What these companies need in the near term is life support, while the upcoming administration and the newly elected Congress finally establish a comprehensive energy plan for the United States! Today is the tipping point in that struggle that has existed since the Nixon administration! A win, win outcome can only come from a sustainable business model combined with an Energy Independence vision that collide for the benefit of the world! We have the resources and the initiative to move toward achieving this goal. The United States can lead the world with technological development into Hydrogen Fuel Cells that are cost effective as well as ecologically friendly, provided we support that progress with a financially feasible bridge to allow the time necessary to get there! That bridge should be supported as much as possible by domestic resources, such as Natural Gas and Electricity. These resources provide a duel benefit, by retaining capital within our economy, as well as adding valuable jobs to the American workforce, which additionally contribute to our economy! All of these possibilities lie at our feet today, waiting for us to embrace them and utilize them to our benefit in the future! We can choose to ignore the "Big Three" and let that situation work itself out through market forces, or we can re-organize them into economic prosperity again by scripting the change necessary to bring about the most beneficial outcome for both company and country! Every American benefits from having a strong automobile manufacturing base anchored in this country! Energy policy can dictate what they build! Who do you want guiding your future, Detroit or Asia?
Hi David: Have you some details on what we should mandate The big three to do? Build plug in hybrid, all electric and CNG vehicles, perhaps? How about we mandate half pay for all car workers and management making more than $13 per hour? Leadership is sometimes good even if the plan is only mediocre. In my opinion truth is evasive. I don't think I want to be lead by either Detroit or Asia. Can you suggest some other choices? Tentatively, I think we should be lead by T. Boone Pickens.
I think hydrogen fuel cells are like solar power satellites ,the space elevator, superconductors, fusion and wave power = not presently cost effective large scale, nor likely to be before 2012. We can presently go with CNG, big wind turbines in West Texas and plug in electric vehicles. In my opinion we can't wait till 2012 to find out what other options may develop, but we should continue to fund research and pilot programs for many alternative energy ideas. Neil.

I wonder if a quarterly journal of high quality full of important information might be useful to our cause.
