The economy is doing great. One day I go to the bank to borrow $300,000.00 for a home. The bank appraiser say's it is worth $300,000.00. The bank lends me the money to pay back over 30 years. A year later the bank examiner shows up at the bank. Looks at my loan and says my house is worth $200,000.00. The bank examiner says the banks collateral is insufficient. I go to the bank and say my house is not worth the money I borrowed for it. I want my payment and loan reduced. Short Sell The Housing Market. Where did the money go? Who lost? Out the exhaust pipe with the burned inflated oil. Who knew a year before? Who knows now? Maybe oil knows? Not only are you paying for oil at the pump, but everywhere else as well. Can you hear that sucking sound?

The Standard & Poor's/Case-Shiller Home Price Index showed a record decline in home prices in July. The 20-city index fell 16.3% in July from July 2007, and the 10-city index fell 17.5%. Suspect is the value of real property falling when everything else is rising. How is gold and oil worth more than real property? Squeeze!

The data add to worries about when, and if, the housing market will recover. The housing slump has been the crux of the mortgage-market meltdown and credit crunch over the past year. This is what the focus is on but not the real source of the world economic woes.

Everytime oil goes up in price the oil backed dollar goes down in value. Every asset class, your home, your land, your retirement accounts, savings is connected to the value of your currency. Each rise and fall milks that value out of the US financial markets. Oil is a commodity that is finite in supply.

According to the bean counters arithmetic and speculators the supply is on the the downhill side of the bell shaped curve. Demand is out stripping this finite supply. Finite meaning when it is goes it is gone there is no new oil. Doubling demand every ten years will exhaust the supply of something that will be no more. You can't sell, buy or use what is not there. We are in the last minute or less of this supply of oil.

Oil backed currencies work well if your a net exporter. The US has not been a net exporter for sometime. It will not get better because as demand doubles and the supply quickly shrinks to zero the US will find it becomes a net importer very fast. The FOMC knows the value of US asset classes have decreased in value. Because financial institutions are over leveraged on the collateral value of these assets the FOMC had to require the banks to hold the losses as a higher percentage of reserve on deposit. This has shrunk the money supply. You do not have to raise interest rates to shrink the money supply. The problem with this shrinkage is no yield. This causes investment or liquidity to dry up. This sets up a cascade effect where the value becomes indeterminate. Liquidity dries up to zero.

What I would like to impress on you the most is that as long as this bleeding of US assets continues US assets will continue to lose value. Eventually the victim could hemorrhage and die. I thing if you look at your assets values through the years you'll see what I am talking about. Cutting fossil fuels out entirely would stop the bleeding and restore value to assets. This is a critical situation that needs bold swift action. You are in the ER and the patient is critical. Removing the cause of the bleeding is the only treatment that will help. Fossil fuels will continue to deteriorate the patient.

$700 billion spent on removing fossil fuel dependence will restore value to US assets and capital to markets. Transfusions of any other kind will only be bled out through fossil fuels. Freeing up capital that goes into oil will provide an infusion of capital to every household and business in the US. The Real Cost of Oil

This technology can make wind farms more productive, easier to get approved and FAR less costly to operate. It can also move major wind power generation into cities and suburbs, where the power is used, eliminating the need for costly and unsightly new power transmission lines from remotely-located wind farms to the points of use.
It seems this patented technology is too "unconventional" for most companies to consider developing. How about yours?

Very interesting - Make sure to listen to the last sentence

Wow! What an eye-opener!

In January of this year, at a meeting of the Engineers Club of Sun City, Arizona. A.P.S. ( the local power company) gave a presentation in which they explained their plans to build such a plant south of Phoenix, below Gila Bend. They were very upbeat about it's possibilities. Maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel!-----

Take a look at this video and pay particular attention to the very last statement made by the spokesman.

I live in Kansas. We own a very small piece of land. We want a windmill too. How big does your piece of land need to be in order to support the size of a windmill? This is a wonderful and smart concept. We are behind you 100%.

Wind mills come in all sizes and shapes ,J Lenno installed one on the roofs of each of his Car storage buildings in the city of LA. Calf . So you don't need much land or even space to stick one up . Windmill Down side - THEY cost a lot of cash and if you have no wind you still will need some local power . I don't know what kind J Lenno got but I am sure it is the best type and power . Next time I see him at the H D Biker meet in N.D. I will ask him what he has . Save fuel Ride a motorcycle a small one ,Burn everything you get in the mail in a wood stove for heat and don't read it first .Make Moonshine in the bath tub ,you can drink it or run your motorcycle on it . However don't sell it that would make you a terrost ! Good Luck !

Letter to Mr. Pickens - Two Proposals

Dear Mr. Pickens,

Let me begin by congratulating you on what I thought couldn’t be done. You have succeeded in bringing "Energy Independence" front and center, as a critical issue for both parties aiming to take office in January. You have made a great service to this country and the world.

I am deeply concerned, however, that much of this "commitment," be it from the Republicans or the Democrats, will turn out to be just rhetoric. The reasons, may also be beyond their control. To safeguard against this I suggest the following to you, a person that I believe understands this better than anyone, and who can actually help execute the bold measures we need.

1) An Emergency Line of Credit to Emerging Renewable Energy Enterprises.

Mr. Pickens, the financial and credit markets are putting to great risk the work of hundreds of excellent companies that will simply not be able to access the credit markets and continue with their operations. I believe that, with your leadership, we can put together a temporary relief fund that can extend lines of credit to help these enterprises stay in business until this credit crunch passes. Tax credits alone, are not enough in a crisis like this. With your leadership I believe that you can do a great service to the industry as a whole and protect millions of future jobs by creating such a vehicle to help these enterprises stay in business.

2) A Global Renewable Energy Free Trade - Zero Tax Accord

As you know, the credit crisis has now extended beyond our shores and the markets are pricing in a significant global slowdown. To help reverse this trend I believe a bold, global stimulus package, simultaneously coordinated with the G8 and then with any and all other interested nations (nuclear materials exempt,) could be put in place to drive billions of dollars into the Renewable Energy sector globally. This would be the first, sector driven, truly global Free Trade - Zero Tax agreement ever put into place.

This is a critical time for the Renewable Energy sector and I am deeply concerned that the greatest victim of the global economic crises will be clean energy. With companies struggling to run their businesses, and oil prices falling (in the short-term), it will be all the more difficult to implement a Cap-n-Trade agreement in the United States or anywhere else for that matter. Sometimes it takes a crisis of such a magnitude to unite people around a common and noble purpose. These are such times and the United States has an opportunity to lead us out of it. Our candidates for President speak of restoring our standing in the world well I believe that this kind of leadership would accomplish just that.

Let us protect the emerging renewable energy sector in the short term and give it a boost with a Globally unifying accord. Let us create millions of jobs in the United States and around the world devoted to creating clean energy. Let us unite the world in trade with a Free Trade - Zero Tax Accord and let America be that unifying voice.

Mr. Pickens you have access to Mr. Obama and Mr. McCain and you have demonstrated already the creativity and leadership needed to accomplish great things. I hope you will take the time to think about these proposals and the benefits they could bring.

Sincerely,

Ian McKee

America, should of grasped the wake up call many, many years ago but prejudice and greed has run our nation for quite some time. Now the prejudice has come 360 on the ( I'm better than you ) and they are poor too. Can't pay their bills but are truely clueless as to how to live with less. Food cost every body, gas cost everybody, utilities cost everybody. NO skin color or political power involved in those things. Focus needs to change, GOD is tired of the foolishness of men, He has allowed so much to occur to get the attention of his people to set us straight that this nation will force us to become a Cambodia before we humble ourselves. Such a waste of GOD's provisions.. MONEY can't buy you health and stength, a sound mind or fortification to endure what we as a nation must face. G. W. Bush is one of the biggest idiots of our time for thinking that MONEY could stop the SUNAMI's of the world or the Hurricanes & tornadoes of our time. The most precious asset we have is our people, native Americans, black americans and whites... but those we have allowed to come in and take our country over with their money is disgusting. Greed will further destroy our nation and it's people because the MAJORITY of Americans cannot compete financially. "Energy" is what a major focus? But if we can't afford to use it what good is it, back to kerocine lamps and candles, walking or riding bikes, carpenters and plumbers as neighbors, you build my table, I herd your cattle, I can educate your children for some of you lastest crops.. Prejusdice stinks in a country where economic intellegence and financial security is a fundamental way of life. Let someone else other than the rich, detached, and prejudice have a say in how it should be run before they destroy us all.....GOD forbid

Beyond Gibberish....A Focus on the Future

First of all, keep your biases, religious beliefs and pejorative political commentary out of this movement. Yes, times are tough and you have a right to be angry—but your view is a disservice to the goals of this forum and, to be quite frank, underestimates the will and strength of Americans, especially our our aptitude to come together to address issues such as energy independence and economic turmoil.

Instead of looking forward, D.M, you're stuck in the past pointing fingers at politicians, jumping on the hate-Bush-Bandwagon and blaming Wall Street for the mess we are in. How is this going to help? So, while you are home alone crying about using kerosene lamps/candles, using pedestrian bikes and herding cattle in the 21st century, the rest of us will be diligently working together to solve Americans woes for both the wealthy and the poor. Besides, that’s what Jesus would do, right?

Although I am a supporter of Mr. Pickens plan, I don’t speak for him. But in my opinion, I think he would not appreciate your commentary due to its irrelevance to the real issues. You probably don't care, but please, stop your crying on these blogs and do something about it. Take your anger and frustration and contact your district representatives, talk to your family members and get friends to join this cause. There is your say! We are just as angry as you, and you're entitled to your opinion, but the rest of us want a solution rather than finger pointing and gibberish.

Thanks,

Sarken
