WIN-WIN SOLUTION ON DRILLING FOR OIL AND INVESTING IN ALTERNATIVE ENERGY.

HERE IS A WIN-WIN SOLUTION ON DRILLING FOR OIL AND INVESTING IN ALTERNATIVE ENERGY.
SOME SAY WE CAN'T DRILL OUR WAY OUT OF THESE PROBLEMS
>>> BUT MAYBE WE CAN. IF WE AGREE TO USE ALL THE UPFRONT PROCEEDS FROM ALL THE NEW LEASE AGREEMENTS AND PERMIT FEE'S WE COULD IMMEDIATELY BEGIN TO FUND ALTERNATIVE ENERGY PROJECTS. THE PROFITS FROM THE INITIAL ALTERNATIVE ENERGY PRODUCTION COULD BE RECYCLED (I.E., LIKE COMPOUNDING BANK INTEREST) TO SUPPORT ADDITIONAL ALTERNATIVE ENERGY PROJECTS. THIS PROGRAM WOULD PROVIDE GOOD JOBS NOW AND HELP GROW THE ECONOMY. BEST OF ALL WE WOULD NOT HAVE TO TAP INTO OUR PRESENT BUDGET PROCESS. ADDITIONALLY IN THE FUTURE WHEN THE HYDROCARBON DRILL SITES COME ON-LINE WE COULD DESIGNATE THE GOVERNMENTS PERCENTAGE OF PROFITS TO BE CHANNELED BACK INTO THE ALTERNATIVE ENERGY FUND. THIS PROCESS COULD ADDRESS THE CONCERNS OF BOTH PARTIES, AND AMERICANS WOULD HAVE STARTED A MODEL THAT WOULD WORK AROUND THE WORLD TO HELP DISPLACE HYDROCARBON DEPENDENCY.

The money would be very significant if the contracts are written correctly. The last set of leases in the Gulf contained some errors and loopholes to this process. I wouldn't expect that to happen again. The states that would be impacted, have to sign-off as well and you can bet they will get their fair share, just like California did when they signed off on the Gaviota Project. The oil companies have agreed to negotiate, understanding that there were errors made to their benefit. Bottom line is we need to earmark this money to more productive alternative energy uses, rather than putting into general funds to be manipulated by government politicians. This is just one area. We are going to have more natural gas than we know what to do with in the next 2 years, through production, pipelines from the north, and imports into our new LNG ports. . What we really need to be doing is developing the infrastructure, as Mr. Pickens suggests so we can best utilize our resources.
All we hear is about the 68 million acres that the oil companies have but won't drill. I know people in the oil business and geologists that are looking for new sites. If the oil companies had a proven reserve in this area they would drill. But they aren't going to drill if it isn't large enough or profitable. Offshore drilling is extemely expensive and it has to pay off or it won't get done. Don't just trust me on this get Pickens to give some answers on the above points.
