A New Era of Responsibility
The 2010 Budget

Those of us who manage the public's dollars will be held to account—to spend wisely, reform bad habits, and do our business in the light of day—because only then can we restore the vital trust between a people and their government. Fiscal Year 2010 Budget of the U.S. GovernmentPresident Barack Obama

Keeping Promises

In the Weekly Address this morning, President Obama explains how the budget he sent to Congress will fulfill the promises he made as a candidate.

On fiscal responsibility, a fair tax code, a clean energy economy, real health care reform, and education, this budget sets out a new vision for our country.

But having put his priorities on paper and having stood behind them, the President recognizes that there are those who will fight against change every step of the way.

"I realize that passing this budget won’t be easy. Because it represents real and dramatic change, it also represents a threat to the status quo in Washington. I know that the insurance industry won’t like the idea that they’ll have to bid competitively to continue offering Medicare coverage, but that’s how we’ll help preserve and protect Medicare and lower health care costs for American families. I know that banks and big student lenders won’t like the idea that we’re ending their huge taxpayer subsidies, but that’s how we’ll save taxpayers nearly $50 billion and make college more affordable. I know that oil and gas companies won’t like us ending nearly $30 billion in tax breaks, but that’s how we’ll help fund a renewable energy economy that will create new jobs and new industries. I know these steps won’t sit well with the special interests and lobbyists who are invested in the old way of doing business, and I know they’re gearing up for a fight as we speak. My message to them is this:

"So am I."

Let us all say what we mean-mean what we say- and just do what we know is conscienibly right before Our Lord Creator/Christ. The socially preached and accepted precept of "Double Mindedness" for the sake of personal profit; is exposed as erronious and therefore righteously judged, by creator and all creation. All the poor and displaced in America have is their sincere Faith; and Hopes that their corporate government will likewise do that which is right, for the earth and its gloriously diverse human population. Just a thought to consider, "the righteous need fear nothing". William "Leland" Luster/Las Vegas,Nev./03-04-2009/10:20am

He said he wanted to chang the way we do things in Washington;
He said he would give the us five days to review bills before they are signed into law:
Didn't happen pushed the stimulus as fast as he could, didn't even give our lawmekers time to read it.
He said he would go line by line and elimate the pork and the programs that don't work:
That didn't happen, he says it was last years business and it is loaded with over 8500 pork projects, along with
the budget for this years cost for our government, the ominbus bill.
He said he would instument the stimulus bill:
He turned it over to Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi to oversee and write.
He said there is no pork in the stimulus biil;
In fact, it's loaded with pork.

He makes a great speech but I think that is about the only thing he does well.
