Do you feel that our government actually supports our efforts?

Even more amazing minds do more than visit. They conceive, develop new technologies and strategies to improve existing energy efficiency, generate renewable and clean energy, and even convert our waste into clean energy. Not all of these technologies are new. Some have existed for over 50 years, but have been overlooked because of the inconvenience to the status-quo. I’ve visited so many discussions and so many groups on this site. I’ve seen so many fantastic ideas that I can’t even begin to count them all. Some are collaborating with each other as I compose this. The real dig is that other nations are collaborating with our great minds on this site, while our own nation turns its back on them and big energy thumbs its noses at them.

Think about it folks. Our great minds and ideas that we need here in the US will have to go overseas to other nations to realize the manifestations of their dreams and hard work. Business in these other nations have the clarity to see the benefits and prospects of these minds and will build their new economies on the ideas of Americans.

Mr. Pickens. May God bless him. Through all of your efforts, he stands to make big $$ on increased NG development and legislation while we gain energy independence from nations that we can’t even travel in. A trade off I’m OK with. You can say this is self serving for Mr. Pickens, but so what. The US will benefit from the jobs, reduced emissions and increased efficiency. I just hope that the NG industry will not trash the environment as I have heard it has in the past.

Our people are jobless. Our economy has been crushed. Our Republicans and Democrats claim that they are creating jobs for you and I. They claim that global warming does or does not exist. They claim that we need to drill, drill, drill or cap-and-trade. They claim we need more coal fired power plants not solar energy. Not the newer clean coal plants with algae scrubbers to create more bio-fuel that is not in the food chain. But the good old “belchers” that got us where we are today. They claim we need more nuclear power plants to lower our GHG emissions. Again, the same good old “steamers” that created the spectacles of 3 Mile Island, Chernobyl and also created the proposition of Yucca Mountain, and enriched uranium and weapons grade plutonium. Not the newer ones that will not melt-down, or leave anything to enrich. Nuclear waste that's safe in 100 years? Do we really want that?

So what has big government done for you lately? Did you get a $600 stimulus check? Did your unemployment get extended yet again? Did you get a big tax break?

You all get it don’t you?

I do. I do so get it that it makes me sad. Placate us today while they hose our tomorrows. So my plan is to let my politicians know my displeasure, and my pleasure when it happens. So much for the latter.

What can I do as just one person? Just that. Let them know what I think and why.

And I am asking for you to do the same. Please help. Each and every one of you. Whether you visit this website once, or frequent it everyday, help me get the message to our government: straighten up or get out. Do you have a rep that you know has not compromised their integrity, nor our aspirations? Let us all know that too. It’s really easy and here’s how:

Step 1: Compose your message in plain text first and try to stay less than 1500 characters with it (wordy). If you go over by a few, don’t sweat it. Be patient, you’ll see what I mean.

Step 2: Go to HTTP: // congress.org

Step 3: In the center of the page you will see a block labeled “GetInvolved”. Enter your ZIP code, and dash four if you know it. Then click the grey “GO” box. This will direct you to a page that shows your federal and state government representatives.

Step 4: Add this web-page to you favorites. It’s real handy because you can select (in orange) your federal, state, or individual reps. You can even see how your federal reps recently voted on issues below that. So click on your target audience in orange. Page now shows everyone that will receive your message. Follow directions as you see them.

Step 5: Enter something into the “Subject:” box. Nothing will be sent if left blank.

Step 6: Scroll the page down, in the “Select an issue” pull-down menu, select the basic class of the issue.

Step 7: Go to whatever application you composed your letter in, and copy your text. Paste it into the big white text box.

Step 8: Fill out your closing and your name. Without your name, the message will not be sent.

Step 9: Scroll the page down and fill out the contact information. (If you may be doing this again, click on the “Remember me” box. It will save your contact information for the next time.) There are other options you can choose, but I’ll let you discover those on your own.

Step 10: After section 4 (CAPWIZ-XC MESSAGE BOOSTER) click on send message once and only once.

I know my congressional reps are probably tired of receiving my notes, but that’s only 4 people out of a 536 member Congress counting the President himself. To start your representatives actually thinking about all Americans, act today. Act tomorrow. Act everyday until they actually know we, the people are fed up with their self service and pandering to the established and “special” status-quo. All I can ask you to do, is to do it with respect. They are after all, our elected government officials.
