I'll show you mine if you'll show me yours

I love the whole Pickens Plan but if the H.R. 1835 and S. 1408 bills don't pass could we make it happen via business instead of government? There is this back and forth between some big companies saying: "I'll show you pumps if you show me trucks" vs "I'll show you trucks if you show me pumps" and if we could just get over that I think we can eliminate the need for government intervention.

So what I propose is donating money to a truck stop chain (or all of them) if they promise to use it exclusively for nat gas pumps. Then the truck manufacturers will be over their largest hurdle. I know the Pickens Plan will give billions in incentives but could we do it with hundreds of millions of actual cash?

I know that Flying J has partnered with a nat gas infrastructure company in the past but they can't put a pump in every station and just let them sit there, their shareholders wouldn't go for it unless the money came from somewhere else.

You are on the right path and it is a matter of good business sense.

Natural gas saves SO much for trucks that they should promote the idea to stations. If the Federal, state, country and city government helps to gain critical mass, the deadlock can be broken.
