Dear Rep. Brad Miller,
I wish to thank you for your reply in asking your support to the green energy incentives, I'm a member of the Pickens Plan in the North Carolina District 13 team, I see that you have not signed up for support of the plan when both North Carolina US senators have, do you a good solid reason for not supporting this energy saving plan that will relieve the American people of oil imports to this country and in making this country economically sound again and saving American money in building this great country to stand united in our independence.
I have supported you since you first ran for office and thus far have done a good job and feel that you must sign on to this plan so that you continue to receive the support of the people who have elected you to office, I look forward to you signing your support to the Pickens plan so that we can all move forward.
Wishing you the very best to you and your family;
Patrick Walter

I'm asking all members to email Rep. Brad Miller to ask him to signup in support of the Pickens Plan

Dear Mr. Walters:
Thank you for contacting me regarding the green jobs and renewable energy provisions in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. I appreciate hearing from you about these issues.
We are facing tough economic times and I fear that times are only going to get tougher. We will not fix the economy by pretending we don't have a problem, and need to take immediate action in order to break the cycle of job loss leading to reduced consumer spending, leading to more job loss, and on and on. I voted in favor of this bill. I do not believe it will work magic, but I believe it will help.
Through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, North Carolina stands to create or save 105,000 jobs, 9,000 of which will be in North Carolina's 13th District. This is an estimate of the impact on employment in North Carolina in the near term through "shovel ready" projects to improve our transportation system, infrastructure, and waterways. Other investments in health care, education, research, green energy, and other areas will continue to strengthen the economy in the long run.
I was pleased that the economic recovery package included numerous green energy incentives. The economic recovery package included $20 billion in tax incentives for renewable energy and energy efficiency over the next 10 years, clean renewable energy bonds for State and local governments, provides grants of up to 30 percent of the cost of building a new renewable energy facility, a tax credit for families that purchase plug-in hybrid vehicles, and extends and expands tax credits for energy-efficient purchases such as new furnaces, energy-efficient windows and doors, or insulation. Additionally, it provides a three-year extension of the production tax credit (PTC) for electricity derived from wind, biomass, geothermal, hydropower, landfill gas, waste-to-energy, and marine facilities. It also establishes a new manufacturing investment tax credit for investment in advanced energy facilities, such as facilities that manufacture components for the production of renewable energy, advanced battery technology, and other innovative next-generation green technologies
I supported this overall bill and what it can do for our economy. This economic recovery package will create American jobs now. It will also lay a foundation for long-term growth through clean energy, innovation and education.
Please contact me about other issues important to you. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Brad Miller
