Hi Sam,
Have you been following the email conversation? 193 names... the headers are longer than the messages :^}
I wish there was some way to revitalize the conversations going on here. The situation has deteriorated so much since January I suppose that folks are simply giving up. That opens niches for the stranger arguments to fill.
What is it that folks don't understand that NG costs 1/3 as much as finished petroleum on a BTU basis? And why can't they understand that renewables are even cheaper in the long run???
Yes, been following, although all the back and forth makes me just delete....just being honest. Seems like everyone wants to start their own company, but with limited capital, that is tough. Even the established companies are having hard times right now, trust me, I have applied to most! That may be why many have not been as active on the site. I have spent less time here and more time actually contacting folks IN the industry. I would like to see more partnerships formed, I think if people would team up and work together may make it more financially feasable and then maybe some action can be seen. The grant money is coming out, we got a good bit here in GA, but like I said going to established companies, and even still no new jobs yet. When they start hiring and actually getting work done towards energy transition, that is when I will get excited (and hopefully employed!).
This is my perspective......the American public is so media driven we need to make Energy "sexy" to get folks involved! Sad but true, most of my friends find me "nerdy" for my interest in renewable/alternative energy. I say, let's have a Discovery Channel show with the CNG Chopper, I drive it cross country. Every week new show on location to different companies, groups, and individuals making a difference in transitioning our country away from use of forgein fuels (the oil from countries that don't like us). I could even talk to politicians.....but instead of something that people loose interest in, make it exciting. I have offered the idea to the powers at be with the Chopper, but they may not make a move unless interest was shown....told them they need to talk with Jay Leno too....somehow, we have to get media involved....celebrity endorsements,etc.....anyone have thoughts on this.....would more get involved....Boone, what do you think?
Hi Sam. Not too long ago, Neil Young was trying to show us that if he could change his Hummer and his 59 Lincoln to more friendly energy, so could we. We have had the technology for quite some time and it has pretty well been burried. Neil has a good voice(not just for singing)to show the world we mean business. Also Arnold Schwartzenegger is another good advocate. If all the inventors and innovators were able to join together and put their products forth to the people all at once, something would happen. As Patrick said "strength in numbers" is what we need. We need Boone's voice along with other celebrities to influence the scepticle populations. Lets all work together and make it happen. Thanks. Brian.
