In less then two days, we march!

Now its time to get Congress and our legislatures attention.

With over 3 million marchers and over 30 partner organizations strong, we are in a position to make an even larger impact than we have already achieved. We have all the momentum and now, we need to execute.

Boone just sent out an email today so be sure to check you inboxes!

"How the Virtual March is going to work is that each day of the march - Wednesday, Thursday and Friday - you are going to receive an email from me with a link to a place on the Pickens Plan website where you will be able to send an email to your Members of Congress. We're going to be pushing a different issue every day, so you'll be able to participate all three days."

What are your thoughts on the impact we are making and what we want to accomplish during the 3 days we march?

*Update April 3, 2009*

Hey everyone!

Thank you for all your hard work- this has been an incredible 3 days and we've made a HUGE impact. Saw some questions about emails and where's the link. If you did not receive any of Boone's emails, please check your spam folder.

Or you can simple just go here and complete all the actions for the march.

When calling for Nat Gas Act 2009 - It is the SENATE BILL # 672 - Pickens Plan is asking us to call our respective Senators for our area.
As of 4/2/09, it hasn't come to the House yet - so calling the House of Representative now, you can give your comments, but the real time to call is when Senate approves the bill and it's passed to the House of Representatives for their consideration.
Within Pickens Plan - someone needs to identify the specific bill names and keep track where they are, as to who to contact first. Example: "NAT GAS ACT 2009 senate bill #672"
I called McClintock's office on the "NAT GAS ACT 2009" and he asked what bill number it was to know how to respond. I looked at the Pickens Plan email information, but it didn't say the bill #. The assistant also said - it would be best to contact the house, once the bill is passed, because contacting the house rep before it is passed can be a waste of our time, especially if it is declined. Hope that helps.

I received an email today from the "virtual march on Washington". It tells me to send an email to Obama and my Rep's to vote for this bill. I'm sure it's a good bill and I would like to support it, but I first need to read it before I put my name on it. Picken's Plan web Admin's need to add a link on the website (for this and future bills) where we type in our message so that we can read the bill for ourselves before committing.

Thank you for telling us the bill #.

Hi Dutch: Congressional bills typically run for hundreds if not thousands of pages including last minute amendments, minutes before the final vote. Needless to say they are difficult reading. Condensed versions usually do not accurately portray what we will get, and the executive branch is good at perverting the original intentions. Contradictions allow almost anything to happen. Congress rarely complains no matter how bad the results. Possible solutions are to require bills to contain only one subject, and a maximum word count of 1000. Neil

Numbers are the name of the game! If each of us got just 2 more people to join the march we would have almost 15,000,000 people. AARP has a membership of 40,000,000, that's even a better number to shoot for. We will convince Congress when they see the supporters Pickens has. We have only two days to make to go over the top. If you can"t get a phone call into your Senator or Congressman we are doing our job! Jamming the phone lines, fax machines, is something Congress does not forget! Yesterday my Congressman's office told me that we are starting to make our point. Made me proud to be associated with the Pickens Plan People! What a fantastic job everybody is doing!

Hello,
I've contacted my reps via email, Twitter, MySpace for the last three days. Each time I've posted, I've earned points. Points are important for one big reason: The Pickens team could have aggregate data on both social network posts and emails sent as well as the number of volunteers who physically lobbied their reps. Wouldn't you like to see that data when the virtual march is over?

Even more, wouldn't you like to see President Obama and both parties in Congress approve our wind and natural gas initiatives? Personally, I'm so proud of Boone Pickens and those who have joined this plan. I've learned a lot from participating in this process. How about you?

I think this march and movement toward alternative energy sources is vitally important, especially in the wake of our economic crisis and the huge deficit our nation may be facing soon. Let's band together and show Washington that we are united and strong and that we have a voice that will not be silenced or subdued!

You are making a mistake by not allowing the prefix, "Mr. and Mrs." to be included among the choices. I wanted to sign it "Norma and Phil Hyatt," but had to settle for "Phil Hyatt" and the prefix "Mr." It should certainly be possible for me to enter multiple signatures within my family without having to affix a prefix.
