I did a little research on the Energy Information Administration, A government agency tonight.I found that the latest data available is from 2007 and was released January of this year. According to the site the average electric usage for Arkansas
was 1,118 Kwh with an avg. price of 8.73 center per Kwh making the average bill $97.58.

This is where the small scale or personal wind system. If you take the max data rated output from a 2.5 Kw and can get that output in every hour fir 15 days, you can generate that 1118Kw you purchased. With a net metered system you get constant power feed you need for daily lining. If you work during the day your system is working for to moving your electric meter.

Check with your local provider ofr more information.

Have you looked at the system in the article in the Popular Mechanics Oct 2007 this looks like a good system to me but I thank that Ark . and Entergy should help defray the cost of installation.

Just joined AR-02. I like designing and building things. I want to build a small wind system.

Evening,

I just wanted to remind everyone about Boone’s call to arms. He has asked each member of the army to call our member of Congress and ask them to support the alternative energy components of the stimulus plan.

Here are some helpful talking points:

Urge them to tell House Leadership that their constituents support the wind energy elements included in the Stimulus Bill which will build upon 2008's successes in the wind energy sector:

o Extension of the Production Tax Credit

o Implementation of a renewable infrastructure loan program

• We hope they're willing to doing more on the natural gas side and provide the incentives that will greatly expand the use of domestic natural gas as a vehicle fuel in America. Expanded use of Natural Gas Vehicles (NGVs) will help wean us off of foreign oil and create new American jobs. These incentives include:

o Increasing the vehicle tax credit to make natural gas trucks more accessible for heavy and medium duty truck operators

o Extending the fuel tax credit

• The Pickens Plan works best as a whole plan—wind and natural gas—and we hope Members of Congress will support that. The Stimulus Bill is a strong start but there's more we can—and should—do.

When you've made your call, please post a response to this discussion so I can keep track of how many calls have been made for each district!

Boone is counting on us. You can find the numbers to your elected officials below. Making a call is really quick, easy and satisfying. Make your calls today so I can report your hard work to Boone!

Senator Blanche Lincoln (202) 224-4843

M.J.

Great question!

The Pickens Plan is a national alternative energy initiative lead by T. Boone Pickens. The Energy Party is a group of some New Energy Army members that has sprung up here on our Push site.

The Pickens Plan is officially non-partisan. We believe the energy crisis is a bi-partisan crisis that requires bi-partisan solutions. The Energy Party seems to be a group that wishes to start another political party. Feel free to check them out or join if you agree. However, rest assured they are seperate from the Pickens Plan.

I have a question. Is the Pickens Plan the same as the Energy Party that I have seen mentioned online by some? My interest is to find new ways to save energy, not join a new policital party. For me to be comfortable in encouraging my friends to become involved, I need this question answered.

All Members of the Arkansas Second,

Happy Holidays! I just wanted to introduce you to Tracy DuBose, David Hughes and Ross Yingling. They have stepped forward to be the Pickens Plan District Leaders for the AR-02. They need YOUR help. Message them and find out ways you can get more involved. From signing up new members, to talking with elected officials and writing Op-Eds/Letters to the Editor, we’ve got something for everybody!

Also, contact your Regional Leader Geoffrey Bailey at Geoffrey@pickensplan.com if you would like to help by joining the District Leadership Team!

Merry Christmas!

I think most of the politicians are behind alternative energy but only in a vague "there's something we need to do" way. I support the Pickens Plan because it is specific in terms of needing government funding to purchase land not already government owned, if necessary, and to purchase windmills. Little Rock has announced a new windmill blade factory opening here in the near future (Janurary?). However, I have not heard of any legislation going forward that speaks specifically of the installation of windfarms and windmills. Does anyone have a lead on this?

AR-02'ers!

I just wanted to thank you all for your interest in taking a leadership role in your District! What's great about the AR-02, unlike other districts, is that so many of you want to take a key role in the future of your district. So, instead of just having one person saddled with the responsibility, we have the opportunity to have an AR-02 Leadership "Team."

This way, no one person is overburdened and the AR-02 has the potential to be the most productive district in the country for the Pickens Plan! This will really pay off when Pickens Plan legislation comes up for a vote on the Hill.

I just wanted to reach out and thank you all for your interest in really stepping up to make a difference in your community and your district.

With all of you working together as a team, the Pickens Plan efforts locally are really going to take off.

If you are still interested in taking a Leadership role in the AR-02 and being a part of the District "Leadership Team", please shoot me your email and I can send you some more details about the program.

Man I am excited! Have a great day!

I did the same thing Ralph. I agree with you that his reply completely dodged the content of our email. I could even follow what all he way saying in the reply. I received a copy of a response from Sen. Lincoln just today to a Pickens Plan email campaign and felt that, although her reply was much more to the point and actually contained some good ideas and news, there was still a distinct silence about drilling and mining for domestic resources. Obviously not on the table for her.
