Invitation to Join the Pickens Plan for U.S. Energy Independence

In the coming weeks the 111th U.S. Congress and the new administration take office and begin work on a variety of bills to reinvigorate our economy, determine a new course in foreign policy, chart new directions in national defense and rebuild our infrastructure.

The Pickens Plan is the only energy plan that proposes U.S. energy independence within 10 years, and is the only plan ready for Congressional hearings within the Administration’s first 100 days. This is a grass roots effort to develop a tangible national energy policy that actually frees America from overseas energy.

American citizens are joining with each other and T. Boone Pickens to demand that once and for all, that we as a country become energy self-sufficient. We recognize this will require a combination of technologies and a number of years to achieve, but we believe it is critical that we start now.

If you agree that energy independence is vital to our freedom as a country and to maintaining our individual freedoms, please accept my invitation to join the Pickens Plan at: www.pickensplan.com, and then join the Pickens Plan group for your Congressional District. There are also other groups too for each of our Arizona Universities and areas of Arizona along with groups focused on wind, solar and alternative fuels. The time is now to push this new administration to get an energy plan going in its first 100 days.

Welcome to the group! 14 so far, let's help this group grow! Tell your family, friends and co-workers about it.
Please download signature sheets from the resource page and start collecting signatures. Grocery stores, churchs and other gathering places are a great place to start. Put some on the coffee table when your family is over this coming week.
If you would like to get together for a brainstorming session, let me know and we'll get it set up.
Three things to focus on:
More recruits- goal of 500 more in our group by inauguration
Submit a letter to the editor or an op-ed piece to the newspaper
Call, write or visit Jeff Flake's offices and ask him and his staff to sign on to the Pickens Plan.
Thanks again for joining the group and let's keep in contact.

PP has made a major change in the focus to incorporate solar into the mix and that's wonderful for the Southwestern army. Grid is significant and we have some groups here who address transmission concerns, as well as PV vs. Thermo; that being said, and I know our District Leader is major into CNG, it would be great to use this group here to leverage the plan down to actionable items for our specific district.

E.g., Arizona Congressional District Six is one of eight, we have a big chunk of population, span two counties, have five incorporated cities, and I think two or three of the Corporate Commissioners live in the district.

Just saying this is a great district for the PP and I'm looking forward to seeing what comes forward; imho, the home systems are not the best way forward vs. clusters when it comes to the use of rate incentives (fine for you to install and we should look at the German formula for grid payments, but if taxes and other societal incentives are used, let's put it into the most effective and efficient systems available).

I am 100% behind the Pickens Plan and I think in AZ we should also be looking at the benefits Grid Connected Solar. Both SRP and APS have information on their websites. Next year the tax benefits will be significantly higher than they are right now. I have a grid system on my roof already and there are ONLY 999 other SRP customer who have invested in this. Come on AZ if WE don't utilize the SUN who will?

Alright Dave! Looking forward to seeing it take off!

I am excited to see this group continue to grow. I want to introduce you to your District Leader--Dave Clemens. Dave has a wealth of experience with Natural Gas and the Pickens Plan.

Dave will be responsible for directing specific actions of the group and will answer any questions you may have. He will take over communicating with you at this point but I am ALWAYS available for assistance. I live in AZ so I am looking forward to being involved. There are 3 activities we are asking you to focus on right now:

1) Continue to recruit as many supporters as possible to the Pickens Plan. We have a goal of 500 new members PER district. The larger the group the easier it is to get those signatures. In order to make Pickens Plan a reality we need the numbers! Sign up sheets are available for download in the District Leaders resources located HERE. Go ahead and ask everyone you know to start signing up!

2) Organize a meet-up and talk about next steps and how to meet goals and objectives.

3) Submit an op-ed or letter to the editor about why you support the Pickens Plan and why others should to. I can help you draft this or create one yourself.

4) Make phone calls and send letters to Congressman Flake's office and ask him to sign the Pledge.

Thank you again for all of your help!

Hi! Thanks for being here. You have taken a step towards reducing our dependance on foreign oil! Please reach out to everyone you know and encourage them to join AZ06. Join groups in Arizona and encourage members to join their district. Search for other people in your district by using the location city search tool and invite them to join AZ06! We need to build Boone's Army district by district. We will be in touch.
