Boone is lucky to have such a strong team of local supporters in congressional districts across the country. But we are not done yet...the fight for energy independence has only just begun. And we need to use the support we generated around the Virtual March and leverage it for action in Congress.
With the Virtual March behind us, the next stop in the fight for energy independence will center around two legislative initiatives: the Natural Gas Act of 2009 (H.R. 1835) and a national Renewable Electricity Standard and expanded transmission infrastructure (RES). Boone needs your help to mobilize local supporters to call your elected officials during the congressional recess (which lasts until April 17th).
Here is what you can do:
1) Generate letters, emails and calls to your Members of Congress during the congressional recess
2) Set up meetings with your Members of Congress during the congressional recess
3) Submit Op Eds & Letters to the Editor to local newspapers and media outlets
4) Organize local meetings, events, happy hours, receptions with local supporters
Let me know if you need background information about this legislation or help drafting letters, op eds, etc. Also, you can find contact info for your Congressmen and Senators at
http://www.house.gov/ or
http://www.senate.gov/
Thanks again for all your help.

PS- Please keep sending updates about your letters, phone calls, emails, etc. Boone literally asks for daily updates on how things are going in specific states and congressional districts so he can cite examples of local support when he is meeting with Members of Congress. Your feedback helps him know exactly what’s happening locally. I'd love to include the things you all are doing!
