The latest BooneCam features Boone talking about all the action the army has taken in the past week, and how the army is a powerful tool for him. As you can see Boone is paying attention and appreciates your efforts and support.

By now you have all seen the message that Boone sent out. Now is the time to be contacting your Senators. Please ask everyone you know to keep making those phone calls asking for all elements of the Pickens Plan to be included in the Stimulus Bill.

Make your voice heard!

With the passage of the stimulus plan in the U.S. House of Representatives, we finally see the first step towards making key wind energy components of the Pickens Plan a reality.

THANK YOU to all of you who so quickly and effectively rallied your districts, made calls yourself, and generated additional calls from other members in your District Groups.

But our work is not done. The bill goes before the Senate next week. So watch this space as we take a breath before the next round.

Again, thank you.

Greetings CA-43. I will be taking over some districts from Mary Anne. I am looking forward to working with all of you! You have probably seen Boone's email. It's time to see how the Army works!

OK you week-end energy warriors this is HUGE and we need action this week-end!! As you may be aware Wednesday the Stimulus Bill comes up for vote so we need calls into Congress through Wednesday. As a district though let’s break it down into the week-end work first where we just leave messages in D.C. Have your friends and family call too this is important.
The bill includes some elements that are favorable to the Pickens Plan so we obviously want to promote approval of the bill and ask them to keep working on the other elements that we want included. Here is a short script that you can use when calling your Congressman and Senator.

Dear Congressman/Senator _____________ please tell the House Leadership that you support the wind energy elements included in the Stimulus Bill. However, we need to take it a step further so please include an extension of the Production Tax Credit and an implementation of a renewable infrastructure loan program.

Also, Congressman/Senator __________ natural gas will move us toward our independence from foreign oil and promote jobs here in America. Please promote a vehicle tax credit to make natural gas trucks more accessible for heavy and medium duty truck operators and extend the fuel tax credit.
Thank you (then say your name) in California

I want to know how many and who is generating calls--10 energy points are awarded for each call generated by a supporter, so you need to keep track of your calls and email them to me so if you are counting points YOUR effort is counted and recorded (it that’s important to you).

Thank you for your efforts. Please don't hesitate to contact me for anything!

Here are the phone numbers:
Sen Feinstein: (202) 224-3841
Sen Boxer: (202) 224-3553
Congressman Baca : (202) 225-6161

We're finally here! The new Administration and Congress have been sworn in. Legislation is perking up everywhere. We will soon have legislation promoting the Pickens Plan. We have been working the past seven months for this - the next 100 days!

We need everyone's help.

If you haven't already, please host a meeting among the District group to see how your district can keep moving the Pickens Army forward.

Please continue to recruit new Members. Members have found success (and new acquaintances) by setting up a table in front of a store such as Wal-Mart or at a local park.

Write an op-ed or letter-to-the-editor to your hometown newspaper. Send that op-ed or letter to ALL the papers in your district.

Send a note to your Member of Congress that you want them to support the Pickens Plan when it becomes legislation.

And please report what you have done. A weekly report gets sent to Boone with figures such as how many op-eds and letters to the editor have been submitted, published, meetings held, etc. He follows our district activities every week.

We still need a District Leader for CA-43. Please let me know if you are interested.

My name is Mary Anne Carter and I am the regional leader for California. We are still looking for a district leader for CA-43. If you're able and interested in helping, please click here to learn more about district leadership. Then, please send me an email and let me know if you are interested: maryanne.carter@pickensplan.com

Take a moment and introduce yourself and let your fellow district members know how you are able to help. We are looking for members to help us achieve our district goals:

- recruit 500 new members
- organize existing members
- get letters to the editor and op-eds published in local media
- contact elected officials and get them to sign the Pledge

Welcome again. I look forward to everyone's support. Together we will make the Pickens Plan reality.

Also, if you have contacted your Member of Congress or Senators, submitted an op-ed or letter to the paper, please let me know about it. Thanks.

Hello,

I hope all of you had a wonderful, relaxing holiday. I am still traveling but now have more accessibility to my computer…and a little more time. I realize this upcoming week is still busy for all of us and many still traveling but wanted to get started on our priorities. For now, I will be acting as District Leader but am still looking for a volunteer.

Last week, I emailed the District Leaders noting Senator Barbara Boxer is a key target. After some give and take, I have come up with a plan of action that is practical and doable.

I am hoping we can coordinate our efforts.

1. Please email Senator Boxer asking her to sign the Pickens Pledge or support it when it is introduced in Congress. Her Democrat colleague from N. Dakota, Byron Dorgan, has already stated he will be introducing parts of the Pickens Plan next Congress. Please do this Mon, Tue and/or Wed. Please notify me when you have done this so we can keep track. Her Senate email address can be accessed here. https://boxer.senate.gov/contact/email/policy.cfm
2. Please submit an op-ed/letter to the editor (lte) to your local papers (you can submit to several papers) on why you support the Pickens Plan. Ideas for language can be found on the main Pickens page if you seek some guidance on drafting one. We’d like to cover as many papers as possible.

Please submit op-eds/lte next week to all papers in the District (even weeklies). Hopefully, we will have a flood of them appear the following week. Please notify me when and where you have submitted and let me know when they appear. Please let me know if it was an op-ed or LTE, the publication where it ran (or was submitted to), the date it ran (or the date it was submitted), and if possible, please include either a link to the online version of the piece or a scanned copy of the piece if you can. Not only do I want to keep Dallas informed, I want to deliver to Senator Boxer a hard copy of every op-ed/lte along with a copy of the pledge asking her to sign to each of her CA offices as well as DC.

Please post any op-eds/ltes on the District Group page.

Since we currently have no District Leader, if a member of this group wants to host a meeting or get-together (does not have to be at your house, a local McDonalds, library, etc. are perfectly fine) please let me know. I don't need a full report of the meeting, but topline information about when/where it was held, how many attended, what was the general discussion, what were the take-away assignments, etc would be great just so I can provide some color in our weekly report to Boone.

Lastly, please continue to sign up new members. We exceeded our goal of one million members so now we’re pushing for two million by Inauguration Day (Jan. 20) Here is a user-friendly link to the page where you can enter names: http://action.pickensplan.com/signupsheet

Thanks for everything. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
