Hey Rebecca and Allan,

I would be happy to schedule a meeting for our Northern District 22 members perhaps in Boca or Del Ray or even The Town or city of Palm Beach. The first format is quite simple to answer questions and be of general assistance, taling points, how to sign up new recruits and so forth. Thank you for the e-mail addresses Rebecca for our Congressman. Be sure to call our Congressmen this week and ask them to sign the incentive package which is backed by the Pickens Plan and is backed by Barack. And if they want to go against a President that just won his position quite easily they may want to rethink their position. Mel Martinez on the other hand doesnt care because he is retiring from his office at the end of his term. Please let me know if and or when you call 'em. Thanks,

Carry On!!!, carry on....

I like that idea, Allan. Perhaps Chris could establish a framework for the discussions, and we could coordinate our get togethers fairly closely with the timeline of the folks down south, comparing results afterwards. It would be interesting to see what brainstorms might result from having 2 independent discussions, as well. I know from my involvement with building codes that there has just been passed legislation demanding phase energy efficiency (with review every 3 years) of our buildings, of 50% over current efficiency by 2019. This is a wonderful point to remind our legislators of when we push for more wind power. Although not as effective in Florida as in other areas, due to the wind speed to power generation ratios, recent designs have improved the power generation of wind turbines at lower wind speeds, and offshore wind is higher. I would much rather have offshore wind turbines than oil rigs in Florida. Any other ideas?
Thanks,
Rebecca

Rebecca,

I am in Palm Beach Gardens and sent a message to Chris that I wouldn't be able to attend because of the ride. We should probably get together with others in the Northern Palm Beaches and follow the direction of Chris Jones and others in Southern Palm Beach/Broward Counties.

Thoughts anyone?

Let me supply everone with a little information:
The Congressmen from our district is Ron Klein, His webpage is:
http://klein.house.gov/content/home/index.asp

Our Senators are Bill Nelson and Mel Martinez (for now), who's websites are:
http://billnelson.senate.gov/
and
http://martinez.senate.gov/public/

Also be sure to send the congratulatory email to our new President Obama from the Pickens Plan webpage:
http://action.pickensplan.com/c.hdKGIKNqEoG/b.4725669/k.7068/Congratulations_PresidentElect_Obama/siteapps/advocacy/ActionItem.aspx

It is short and sweet congratulating him and letting him know we want his support for the Pickens Plan, and are watching the first 100 days, very appropriate.

Hope this helps,
Rebecca

Contact you Congressmen. If you dont know who they are you can find them on the Pickens Plan web site. Most if not all congressmen have their own official web page where you can learn about them and get their e-mail address. Just tell them that you are a supporter of the Pickens Plan, it seems to be a "no brainer" or simple logic that we must get off foreign oil dependency. Just imagine what would happen if OPEC suddenly said We are not going to sell any more oil under $150.00 a barrel! They could do that if they want. So we must find alternative methods of maintaining our standard of living without mortgaging our future!

Carry On!! carry on...

Hello Everyone,
I am sorry I was unable to attend the meeting today, but would love to hear the results, especially if any strategies were solidified for acting locally. Living in Jupiter makes the trek to Hollywood a bit onerous for me in the few hours I am not at work, but am very interested in what occurred. I have been reading several postings on the site relative to alternative energy business proposals, and it strikes me that some ideas may have long term effects that make global warming look tame. Hope our formal support at this time will be for Mr. Picken's Plan, as it is the best I have seen for the energy transition. We need to take the first step before running, especially in the wrong direction. Thanks Chris for the leadership.
Best Regards,
Rebecca
