Sea Turtle Day at Gumbo Limo starts at 10:30am and runs until 4:00pm.
My volunteer shift at the Sierra Club table is 2:00 to 4:00pm.
This is the contact number on Gumbo Limbo's website, 561.338.1473.

I'm not sure if it's too late in the game to set up a table or not, give them a call! If you can't set up a table, at the least I would think we'd be able to walk around with clipboard and pamphlets :) Let us know what they say!!

Hey Jen,

I think that is a FANTASTIC idea! Can you get ahold of the Sierra Club organizers and ask them if we could set up a table? You are Awwwwsome!!!

What does everyone else think in the group. That is just one week from this Saturday and good I am not working! We could probably organize just through this group page. How long is the sierra club turtle thing, Jen?

I have a small cardboard table and a table cloth. We will need a large cooler which I have and drinks.

Why dont we get together by phone - my number is 954-816-7828.

Whoever else wants to get involved call me and we will start a responsibilities list, you know who brings what and who is going to work from when to when...

Sounds great Jen!!!

Lets Do this!!

Carry On!!!!!, carry on....

Or instead of retailers (or in addition to retailers) use an already existing event to further our cause? i.e....
I'm volunteering for the Sierra Club at Sea Turtle Day at Gumbo Limbo Park on A1A in Boca Raton on March 7th. Most of the folks attending will be either animal lovers, beach goers, evironmentalists or all of the above - the perfect crowd to get signed up! What do you think?

Hey South Florida District 22.

I think it is time for us to organize an event. A mass signing in front of a Walmart, Kmart, a family retailer or something. We must continue with the push as Kim Anderson says our power is in our numbers and she is dead on.

So why dont a bunch of us contact some local retailers and see what we can come up with. I made an attempt at the Walmart on University which was a no go because they didnt want us signing people up, which is the whole point. Let me know what you find out and of course....

Carry On!!!, carry on...

Once the Florida Legislature adopts the CARB initiative, will Uncle Sunny control the cost of certification in regards to CNG conversion so that it will be viable for everyone in Florida? By everyone I mean the public, state and local governments and alternative energy companies like mine. As it stands right now according to the EPA standards, anyone can convert a vehicle with a non-certified kit as long as it does not interfere with the manufacturers specs. But gov't fleets must be converted by certified kits. That certification will cost the gov't about $20k per vehicle certified by engine type in order for the converter to recoop any monies spent on a 1yr certification. My ? is this. How can we keep the cost down so that everyone can be crtified and still be viable in the new energy market?

Just a quickie:

I just thought that you mignt be interested in the fact that while speaking to a customer service representative on the phone about one of my appliances I was actually able to sign her up for the PP.! You can sign up one or two people a day just by keeping your sign up sheets with you. If everyone in our group signs up just two people per day we as our small group in South Florida are adding 60 people per day! That is 1800 people per month just from our small efforts!!!!

Remember T. Boone will be in town on Tuesday Morning in Davie!!!

Carry on!!! carry on...
