Thanks Rebecca for that information as of yet I have not received anything on it.

Hey Jennifer! Noone took any notes we pretty much followed the meeting outline that I had left on this group page. 1. General Info and Thank you for attending, 2. What is the Pickens Plan 3. The Pickens Plan web site. 4. Signing new members. 5. How to avoid "pot holes" while discussing the Pickens Plan and signing new members. 6 T. Boone's Town Hall Meeting in Davie on Feb. 17.

My deepest apologies for missing the meeting on Sunday :( I have the flu that's been going around lately, I was so sad to miss it.

Are there notes or 'minutes' from the meeting that someone can post?

Thank you so much and see you at the next one!

Sorry I missed everyone at Sunday's meeting. However, wanted to share the high points of return email from Senator Mel Martinez and Bill Nelson.
Martinez:
"Natural gas currently provides 22% of the energy our nation uses but only 2.2% of the energy used for transportation. While demand for this domestically-available, cleaner-burning fuel has grown, a lack of natural gas fueling stations and infrastructure has limited the growth of natural gas vehicles. Transit buses and heavy duty vehicles that run on liquified natural gas have become commonplace throughout the United States, but natural gas infrastructure must be expanded greatly if we are to increase the number of family vehicles that are powered by natural gas. I will continue to support existing financial incentives for natural gas vehicles and the purchase of natural gas as a transportation fuel as part of a comprehensive strategy to reduce our nation's dependence on foreign oil.

Please be assured that I will keep your views in mind as we continue developing a competitive national energy policy. I am committed to working with my colleagues in the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources and the full Senate to promote energy independence."

Nelson:
"I believe the United States needs to become energy independent and reduce its greenhouse gas emissions, and I have been a staunch and consistent supporter of measures that increase the use of alternative sources of energy, including wind and solar power. I also voted numerous times to extend all current renewable energy tax credits.

We must develop new energy-efficient technologies in cars, appliances, and commercial buildings. I voted in favor of increasing fuel economy standards in cars and trucks, and I support researching the development of cars fueled by hydrogen and other sources of energy."

Did everyone else get the same response? Part of the Economic Recovery bill that passed today did include some incentives for natural gas fueling stations. Good news!

Thanks, Chris! We're sending message to all members of the district groups in the area as well. We want to make sure everyone who would like to attend from the Army is able to get in!

Good Afternoon Everybody!

If you plan on attending the Town Hall Meeting with T. Boone at Nova Southeastern University please get in touch with Renee Klink and let her know.

They need to get a head count and if we do not approach 50 people they may not set asside the tickests they have for us. This event is apparently being held by Auto Nation and they have only so many tickets available for the Pickens Plan people.

Thank you,
