Tim,

Good solid ideas to get things moving. Will check my schedule to see how I can help. I don't believe I have the time to be a SME, but could be willing to assist.

Also, often I get copies of your comments well after they were posted. Not sure why there is a delay.

Per my original post, I am adding Alternative Energy Technology to the list of subject matter experts I am looking to fill. This would be for someone with training and/or on the job experience and education on alternative energy technologies to put out informative information to be used in our meetings, letters and postings. Thanks to Bob Shultis IA03 District Leader, Randy and David for your input.

Hi Randy,
Meetings: I want to get the ideas back on the subject matter experts and have a couple meetings or conferences with them to get an outline done and then we will schedule the community meetings so that they will be more productive.
Near Term Details-I agree-this is something JP and I discussed and we are working on through his Marketing subject matter and will be looking for more from another subject matter expert where appropriate. More details to come as we get some more volunteers for subject matter experts.

Tim,
I like the direction you are taking. There needs to be more than just email opinions being floated, actual physical actions need to be put in place.
I believe a modified energy plan that includes more near term details that can be implemented now to move along the idea of using Natural Gas (CNG) to replace foreign oil needs to be communicated up the channels to Boone.
The group meetings should include discussion and development of more short term steps that can be implemented and communicated to the American people to rally them to send a physical message to Washington, not just emails.
I believe one of your groups should involve fleshing out these short term energy plan details that support Boone's overall concept of increased usage of CNG for US transportation. Can you add this sub-group into your meeting plans?
Also, when is a meeting scheduled?

Volunteers Needed For GA District 06 Leadership Team

From reading posts on several groups and being on conference calls with leaders from various districts and regions it has become clear to me that a large number of members would like to be more involved but have little if any idea of how to contribute. As your District Leader I have reached out to several members and recently had a very productive meeting with JP Jobin in which we layed out a foundation which I think can help us get more involement and results.
First Step:
District Leadership Team
This team will be a few "Subject Matter Experts"-People to spearhead results in key areas such as
Marketing (Organizing meetings and other ways to "GET THE WORD OUT".
Political Communications (Getting direct metings with local politicians and their participation in some local press coverage for Pickens Plan)
I have assigned JP Jobin to be the Marketing subject matter expert and he will be following up with more information soon.
Please give me your feedback on other Subject Matter Experts you think would be helpful and let me know if you can volunteer for anything.
STEP 2:
Conduct Organized meetings through out our district (planning first community meeting)--If you have a venue you think would be good for a meeting please contact JP Jobin.
STEP 3: Get a "Hands On Field Trip with senior Pickens Plan leader and Political representation as well as press coverage to a local Pickens Plan accomplishment-(Details coming later.
STEP 4: Ongoing Regularly Scheduled meetings (In person and conference calls to access progress and plan next steps.
This is just a rough outline subject to change as I consult with more of you.
Please reply with your suggestions and help us ramp up our progress.
Thanks,
Tim

District members, we’re at the third and final day of the Virtual March, and today we are focusing on getting action on a bill to establish a 21st century transmission system and a National Renewable Electricity Standard (RES). As Boone points out, twenty-eight states now have an RES – which directs electric utilities to produce a set percentage of their power using alternative sources by a date certain.

Let’s make a great final push. Please use this link to contact Congress and the President again today and send a message to them about renewable energy! Thanks to all who have participated in the Virtual March this week!
