Our District 9 group meeting will be Oct 13 at Applebee's at 6 30 PM. I will be bringing in several of the new LED lights so anyone interested can see how effective they are. Hope to see you all there. Don

I have sent several emails to Nathan Deal and even called his office. All I get back is basically about a four-page letter (seems like a form letter), explaining that he does not support the Pickens Plan, but he does support off-shore drilling and opening more oil refineries. I have emailed all my friends asking them to contact Nathan Deal and ask for his support of the Pickens Plan. I also replied to his last letter, telling him that I believe that he will find that his policies are causing him to lose a lot of support.

District 9 members I would like to invite you to our monthly meething which is held on the 2nd Tue at Applebee's in Dalton, Ga. at 6:30 PM. I'm glad to report that both of our Sentators are onboard with us and I regret to report that our Congressman Nathan Deal does not support the Pickens Plan. I contacted Congressman Deal and got a lengthly 4 page or so letter detailing what he thinks could better serve us but can not say I agree with his views. I also don't think he realizes that the majority of his constituents in the 9th District support the Pickens Plan. If you could all send him an email that would be great. Thanks. Don Babb

District members, we’re at the third and final day of the Virtual March, and today we are focusing on getting action on a bill to establish a 21st century transmission system and a National Renewable Electricity Standard (RES). As Boone points out, twenty-eight states now have an RES – which directs electric utilities to produce a set percentage of their power using alternative sources by a date certain.

Let’s make a great final push. Please use this link to contact Congress and the President again today and send a message to them about renewable energy! Thanks to all who have participated in the Virtual March this week!

Thanks to all of you who have taken action in the Virtual March so far! It’s Day Two, and the focus today is on oil imports -- the March 2009 numbers show we imported 65 percent of the oil we used -- so let’s contact our Members of Congress again today about reducing America’s dependency on foreign oil. You can do this by phone, of course, and we have also set up links to e-mail Congress or contact your members via Facebook and Twitter about today's issue.

When you’ve done this, please leave a note here on our group page to let other members know you’ve taken action, and tell us if you received any information or feedback from the members’ offices.

Also, if you are a business owner or part of an organization that would like to take part in the Virtual March, please let me know and we’ll recognize you as a partner on the Pickens Plan Virtual March page!

Hey District 9 of Ga. Group Members just a reminder to join the Virtual March. We are 4,500,000 strong and growing today in the March. Contact as many of your friends to let them know who we are and what we are doing. Thanks for your support. Don Babb/Pickens Plan District 9 Group Leader

I agree with you Ron, but we (the average consumer) also need to take steps on our own to protect ourselves from the greed of foreign oil and large oil companies. If the consumer didn't buy it, they couldn't sell it. It takes everyone working together and doing his/her part to accomplish our goal. So many people say "That's a great idea but it doesn't really apply to me! I NEED MY SUV or my huge energy consuming house, but somebody should do something".
