Does anyone have ideas on how we can recruit some new members? I have called Washington so many times they know my voice. We need some new voices to do some calling and send some emails. We need to keep the pressure on of the next months so legislation is not sidetracked.

David, one of the reasons I started the Smart Grid discussion above is to have a method to keep a record of the activity on the smart grid. With all the recent focus on quick hitters, like natural gas, some people think the PP is straying away from the wind, geothermal and solar sources of energy. I do not think we are straying. We need the quick hitters to keep the momentum going because "smart grid" stuff is years if not decades away - BUT it will happen and it must happen. We are the watchdogs.

As long as they don't figure a way to Tax it, it should work as planned.

I received this Smart Grid NIST Report: Framework and Roadmap for Smart Grids and Interoperability Standards via Detroit automotive channels. I thought everyone might be interested.

As you will see this is a very complicated subject and extends way beyond the Grid and into all sectors of our lives.

I agree with Paul, CNG is the way to go, plentiful, cheaper, cleaner, and almost readily available. Now all we need is for enterprenuers to get involved with building and opening CNG pumping stations. After all the same thing was occuring 100 tears ago when autos were being built that ran on gasoline and it was in short supply. Hence the growth of the oil companies, and the distribution system. All the while pumping our own crude from Pennsylvania and Texas to make it.

We should (first) use the vast fields of Methane & Methane-Hydrate deposits we are blessed with and not waste time and money converting alge or other biofuels.
