I have diligently tried to get Brownback and Roberts and most reciently Jenkins to sign the pledge. Bronwback is is non reply but at least Roberts responded by leter with a little more than drivel but not much. I wrote(US mail) and told him hi still had not responded to the issue, The mPlan, and asked again for him to go to the web site and sign the pledge. Nothing yet. I am beginning to think that they both own oll wells in Kansas. Jenkins hasn't been in office long enough to find her new email account yet.

Thanks for your continued efforts Tony. The best question to ask them is, "If you don't support the Pickens Plan, what is YOUR concrete plan to end our dependence on foreign oil?" Remember, supporting "alternative energy" is not a plan.

If they dont support the Pickens Plan and they dont have a plan of their own, then they are for the status quo, which is foreign oil.

I routinely write my congressional delegation about the Pickens Plan, monthly at a minimum. The question I ask them - since most politicians find it easier to criticize something - is what do they think the major flaws of the PP are? If simple partisan politics isn't the reason behind why a politician won't get behind this plan, then it must be the plan is flawed in some way. I've yet to have one of them tell me exactly what they think is wrong with the PP. I'll post it when / if they do. BTW, Lynn Jenkins has yet to reply to me on a number of emails I've sent her, and Sen. Brownback is hit or miss with his replies. Sen. Roberts is always the first with a response, but it is always boiler-plate drivel that hasn't had any thought put into it. Sadly, I think gas will have to go back up into record territory before any of them start really paying attention.

I was able to go to congress.org to send messages to my congress members. Here is what I wrote:

Please work towards a bipartisan solution for the economic stimulus plan that is being debated in Washington D.C. Including things like the PICKENS PLAN which focuses on our untapped natural gas and wind energy is a step in the right direction. With natural gas we can transform our trucking industry into a more efficient and less expensive entity. We can push towards cars that get better gas mileage or even hybrid or electric. Reprocessing spent fuel rods for Nuclear power would fix the problems of waste storage. (And it is done by most other countries)

I have had great results contacting congress members via their websites. I cannot speak for Lynn Jenkins on that, but her predecessor was superb in responding through that forum. I even recieved calls from her and her staff on an issue.

Evening,

I just wanted to remind everyone about Boone’s call to arms. He has asked each member of the army to call our member of Congress and ask them to support the alternative energy components of the stimulus plan.

Here are some helpful talking points:

Urge them to tell House Leadership that their constituents support the wind energy elements included in the Stimulus Bill which will build upon 2008's successes in the wind energy sector:

o Extension of the Production Tax Credit

o Implementation of a renewable infrastructure loan program

• We hope they're willing to doing more on the natural gas side and provide the incentives that will greatly expand the use of domestic natural gas as a vehicle fuel in America. Expanded use of Natural Gas Vehicles (NGVs) will help wean us off of foreign oil and create new American jobs. These incentives include:

o Increasing the vehicle tax credit to make natural gas trucks more accessible for heavy and medium duty truck operators

o Extending the fuel tax credit

• The Pickens Plan works best as a whole plan—wind and natural gas—and we hope Members of Congress will support that. The Stimulus Bill is a strong start but there's more we can—and should—do.

When you've made your call, please post a response to this discussion so I can keep track of how many calls have been made for each district!

Boone is counting on us. You can find the numbers to your elected officials below. Making a call is really quick, easy and satisfying. Make your calls today so I can report your hard work to Boone!

Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins (202) 225-6601

Senator Sam Brownback (202) 224-6521
Senator Pat Roberts (202) 224-4774

Hello to all. As a railroad engineer whose job depends on coal buisness I would be scalped by the railroad i work for by supporting this movement but the time has come to start becoming less dependent on coal and gas
