From the desk of T. Boone Pickens

Hey Army!
Congress is on its Spring break, but that doesn’t mean they’re out of touch. Most U.S. Senators and Representatives are back in their home states and districts willing to meet with and listen to their constituents.
That’s you!
When they left for their recess legislation had been introduced to promote natural gas; to promote energy efficiency; to promote a 21st century transmission grid; and to promote a national Renewable Energy Standard – in short to promote THE PICKENS PLAN.
In my business career I have seen too many people miss out because they thought that getting close was good enough. You and I know that when you are close, that’s the time to turn up the heat and push the ball over the goal line.
Click here to send your Member of Congress an e-mail - today. Drive over to one of their local offices and chat with a staffer. Click here to coordinate an event with fellow Pickens Plan supporters in your area by joining your District Group.
Let’s keep the pressure on and we’ll win for the Pickens Plan, but more important, we’ll win for America.

The Pickens Plan is organizing a Virtual March on Washington to be held April 1-3, 2009.

So what is a "Virtual March"?

We are going to utilize the size and unique capabilities of the New Energy Army to have an enormous impact on the White House and Congress. The Army will focus its energy during those three days on e-mails, calls and faxes to every Member of Congress.

Between now and then we will be engaging in a series of activities to get ready for the event, including:

* Contacting Members of Congress through email and phone calls to encourage support for key aspects of the Pickens Plan.

* Recruiting new members of the Army in every Congressional District.

* Submitting letters to the editor and op-eds to newspapers around the country.

* Holding district meetings and house parties with members of the Army to discuss ways to have an impact.

* Participating in webcast events.

We will be communicating with members of the Army via email, Push, Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and LinkedIn to build support and enthusiasm for the event. Make sure you are connected to us on any of these platforms where you have a profile!

Be sure to take photos and videos of your activities over the next couple months - we will soon be inviting you to submit items to be featured here on the Virtual March homepage.

Sign up today to participate in the Virtual March and recruit your friends and family to join you!

(If you are interested in visiting your Members of Congress during the virtual march, please contact your Regional and/or District Leader for more information.)

Hello all,

I just wanted to let everyone know I've been in touch with Jeremy Horton, Executive Director for KY Democratic Party, and requested a meeting with Congressmen Yarmuth.

If you all didn't know I met Mr. Horton months ago when I presented to him the Pickens Plan petition, he and I talked for a while and he said he'd try to get a meeting with Mr Yarmuth to discuss the Pickens Plan. Now that the elections have calmed down I'm calling in on his word.

He emailed me back and stated he would be in touch with Julie Carr, Yarmuth's Chief of Staff, and put a good word in for me. With any luck I will hear back from him next week.

I was hoping to get your input on what I should ask Mr. Yarmuth if/when I meet with him regarding the Pickens Plan.

Hi-- want to get-with fellow ENERGY persons and others who want to help fix our local regional and national economy.. Yes, EXPORT and help save the WORLD. Why not..!! YES, WE CAN !!! We (Teamwork) can do it ! Contact me for more info-- 270-388 0685 and www,designky@vci.net

We have a wonderful place here in Mid-America-- but West KY is really offset from the rest of the Commonwealth. We need to get-together and for a TEAM-- since it takes a Team to WIN-- WIN-- WIN..

Dr Dick Bowman is an avid prolific invent/designer--- Has just filed a new US Patent Application for "BIOMASS SLURRY & FLUID INJECTION-- (August 2008)"-- others patents also--

TAKES A TEAM to WIN –WIN- WIN HELP wanted by this 80 yr. old with good references to make things happen. Takes a TEAM in materials also-- as teamwork to make much better products-- as in new COMPOSITE TECHNOLOGIES...

BIO-MASS will work--using any simple "burnable thick gravy" such as bark, wood, trash, grease, crops- stem and all } in burners, process systems, and yes, diesel engines. Also working on BRITE COMBUSTION-- to raise efficiency of carbon to carbon dioxide -- stuff our planets runs on.- such as oatmeal and cookies to gasoline, Each seven lb.- one gal- gasoline makes 19 lbs of carbon dioxide --- left alone this becomes Al Gore's nasty toxic gas -- or can be converted by another's US PAT PENDING from CALIF -- into 58 lbs of chalk, or egg-shell, or as wall-board as calcium carbonate----. Two Oxygen atoms and one Carbon atom combine and release internal stored energy-- release as heat and light -- as in wax candle burning. with soft yellow flame with lots of soot. More heat & pressure = blue- white light and highest heat. Diesel = 45%, gas engine 25% of energy converted into useful work. Lots of heat-loss..

Dr. Bowman has of real low cost practical answers, real solutions..

Dr.Dick Bowman 270 388 -0685 PhD in Systems Engineering-- Member now of West KY Group KY-01, KY-03

An avid very prolific invent/designer--- new US Patent Application for METHOD OF BIOMASS SLURRY & FLUID INJECTION-- (August 2008)-

Brenda, I read your message about wearing the T-shirt to Sam's Club and no one said anything, and here were my instant thoughts. First, I visualized this T-shirt which could be a copyright infringement or something, so I'm not sure if it's feasible. But on one side it reads: "Everything you ever wanted to know about the [Pickens Plan logo] and were afraid to ask....." and on the other side "Just ask me and I'll tell you."

Second, most people will not comment on just one shirt. However, if they start seeing more of them that might likely change. Then they see a trend or movement and they're not a part of it so they want to know more and jump onboard. The more often they see the shirts or buttons, etc. the more likely they will be to say something.

Of course if you wore THAT T-shirt you'd need to be prepared with an answer. At the least give them a brief description and maybe a handout piece of paper with the web address or something. Can you just imagine..........100 people or more walking around Metro Louisville wearing that T-shirt armed with an information handout if you're not the talk to strangers type? Yes, there really is a Santa Claus! And his name is T.Boone. What a gift this man has given us! He's funded the foundation of a revolution to save us from ourselves. Now it's up to us whether we make full use of this gift or keep it in the box on a shelf. May we all let our light so shine that others may see it, be it in conversation, on a bumper sticker, on a button, or on a shirt.

Brenda, the only problem with your shirt is.....it needs more of its kind around.

HI Brenda,
I did hear back from all our congressmen at election time. Yarmuth responded with a letter by mail a few days after he voted for the bailout addressing several issues I had written about. Pretty standard cut & paste responses tho.

For those of you here who don’t know what talents you have to help, you have the most important ones already. You have the right attitude and mind set. For those who don’t know what to do, you’ve done the most important thing—you’ve joined; next is to get involved in whatever way you can. Read, listen, then think how can I fit into each of these ideas and suggestions? Visualize yourself in the picture, then step up to the plate and do it.
It appears the general consensus for meeting is after the first of the year. I agree, but I have some thoughts and suggestions on that. First, let’s plan now so we don’t let too much time lapse after new years getting going. Second, what can we do now while we’re waiting for our meeting? OMG this is huge!!! What are we all doing these days? Socializing with FRIENDS and FAMILY aka people who know and love us, people who share our concerns, people who OMG may NOT know about the Pickens Plan!
So may I suggest that we “TAKE 5”. When you’re with a group of people, take 5. Take 5 people aside, take 5 minutes to ask them about their concerns and tell them about the plan and your involvement. Ask them if they share your sentiments and might want to get involved. Then GIVE them the information to follow up. Remember, they are busy with the holidays too. So before our meeting in January, you contact the locals and invite them to the meeting. Anyone not in our district, contact them and find out if they remembered to get involved on a national or district level. Finally, when you’re talking to them ask them to do the same thing you did. Take 5. Talk to 5 people they know and invite them to join. Remember to have a link to the website and information to join in your pocket or purse. Make it easy for them. This may be a lousy time for a meeting, but it’s a golden opportunity for us to generate a great turnout for that January meeting. Get talking!!

Brenda, I congratulate you on being the first locally to step up to the plate for the 3rd District team. Brenda is ready to meet everyone, run the welcome wagon, distribute bumper stickers and buttons, contact elected officials and the media. You go girl!
Matt, I commend you for being willing to step up to the challenge of team leader. Before I clicked into the link, I feared there might not be a leader for our district. I knew I had way too much personal responsibility right now to do the job justice, and it’s too important for anyone to drop the ball. I hope you can build a good solid second line structure. We don’t want you to burn out. Seth is all ready to go to work.
Harperson wants to have a strategy meet and greet, great idea, and he’s sharing resources and information already . Now Sarah is on board for a meeting and ready to help.
And yes, Matt, I’m sure we’re following the right guy—T. Boone Pickens. My deceased husband was an oil man from his heart to his bone marrow. T. Boone was his inspiration and role model. I spent many hours being told stories about Mr. Pickens. Once I heard the plan and who was leading it, I was in! Don’t worry about his lost billions of dollars. Mr. Pickens will come back up like a bouy in troubled waters. He has what it takes—intelligence, insight, inspiration, and determination—he’s a winner!

i am 57 years old and our generation sure didn't get it right, so it is thrilling to see barack obama and the new generation putting personal energy into what matters which is our future. it is especially great to see this in kentucky where we have a very steep uphill battle to make positive changes. having worked in fuel rationing/allocation in the 70s, it is very disheartening that we have made no progress in these thirty years. i would like to be a part of your district group and will gladly join you at o'shea's in january. we also have gas guzzlers - a wrangler and a tucson. we planned to try the hybrid escape but it was a dreadful and expensive car so we went to hyundai. well for some reason i have faith in this old texan, t boone pickens, even though he was a swift boater. it's going to take an oil baron to make this happen and he's pretty impressive. peace.
