It is always hard to find anyone to take the lead, so I have no problem with William E Higgins Jr being the leader ... his background seems to fit the task.

I do not know William E Higgins Jr. but my vote would be for him. I grew up vacationing at Higgins Beach Scarborough Me. and now live in Ogunquit. As a group we need to get together and start a plan. I just heard on the news Downeast Energy wants to build a new oil refining terminal WHY!!!!!!!!!

Lets start now we have lots of work to do!!!1

My vote goes to William E. Higgins Jr., without a leader this will just be an inactive group of people who care. As a group we need a plan of action, some direction and ways we can actually be pro-active in turning this energy fiasco around.

In addition, Ineglected to mention that a friend and Naval Academy classmate has just been elected to congress from the State of New York. This is his first term also, and he is a democrat like our new reresentative. His name is Eric Massa, and he represents the finger lakes region of New York.

I would like to become the District Leader. I grew up in Cape Elizabeth, and went on to graduate from the U S Naval Academy in 1981. While there I earned a Bachelors Degree in Marine Engineering. It was a 160 credit hour curriculum which included Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, and Shipbuilding. I graduated in the top fifth of the class with a 3.23 GPA. I was selected to the Navy Nuclear Power Program, and went through the navy Nuclear Power School and Nuclear Prototype in Ballstan Spa, NY. I then served on the USS BOSTON (SSN-703) as a division officer. While there I operated and maintained the ships nuclear power plant. I left the Navy in 1986, and then worked for Combustion Engineering in Nuclear Services. I provided plant upgrades to help many reactor plants operate more efficently. many of the services involved revising the plant Technical Specifications with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. I now lead Performance Centered Engineering, Inc. (PCE). We are structred to provide a wide variety of engineering services to the power industry. We also are setting up a non-profit, PCE Community Outreach. One of the missions of PCE Community Outreach is to help the citizens of Maine with Energy Conservation. Hi ya Friends

Sorry I have not been around much, were going on 7 days with No Power due to the Ice Storm, I wanna tell ya when it rains it pours. I hope we get power soon can take living without the necessities.
