From the desk of T. Boone Pickens

Hey Army!
Congress is on its Spring break, but that doesn’t mean they’re out of touch. Most U.S. Senators and Representatives are back in their home states and districts willing to meet with and listen to their constituents.
That’s you!
When they left for their recess legislation had been introduced to promote natural gas; to promote energy efficiency; to promote a 21st century transmission grid; and to promote a national Renewable Energy Standard – in short to promote THE PICKENS PLAN.
In my business career I have seen too many people miss out because they thought that getting close was good enough. You and I know that when you are close, that’s the time to turn up the heat and push the ball over the goal line.
Click here to send your Member of Congress an e-mail - today. Drive over to one of their local offices and chat with a staffer. Click here to coordinate an event with fellow Pickens Plan supporters in your area by joining your District Group.
Let’s keep the pressure on and we’ll win for the Pickens Plan, but more important, we’ll win for America.

The Pickens Plan is organizing a Virtual March on Washington to be held April 1-3, 2009.

So what is a "Virtual March"?

We are going to utilize the size and unique capabilities of the New Energy Army to have an enormous impact on the White House and Congress. The Army will focus its energy during those three days on e-mails, calls and faxes to every Member of Congress.

Between now and then we will be engaging in a series of activities to get ready for the event, including:

* Contacting Members of Congress through email and phone calls to encourage support for key aspects of the Pickens Plan.

* Recruiting new members of the Army in every Congressional District.

* Submitting letters to the editor and op-eds to newspapers around the country.

* Holding district meetings and house parties with members of the Army to discuss ways to have an impact.

* Participating in webcast events.

We will be communicating with members of the Army via email, Push, Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and LinkedIn to build support and enthusiasm for the event. Make sure you are connected to us on any of these platforms where you have a profile!

Be sure to take photos and videos of your activities over the next couple months - we will soon be inviting you to submit items to be featured here on the Virtual March homepage.

Sign up today to participate in the Virtual March and recruit your friends and family to join you!

(If you are interested in visiting your Members of Congress during the virtual march, please contact your Regional and/or District Leader for more information.)

Big Pickens Plan Action Alert!

As we all know the American Renewal and Reinvestment Act - also known as the stimulus package - has passed the U.S House of Representatives and is now in the Senate. This bill has a lot of the items we have been pushing for in the Pickens Plan on the wind side of the plan.

If you haven't already, please email your senator.

I just emailed my senators here in MI and it took less than 10 seconds.

Thanks everyone!

If anyone is interested, I'm leading a group that wants to build zero carbon footprint homes, here in Canton. We have ccSPF insulation (R40 - Walls, R 60 - ceiling), geothermal heating and cooling, photovoltaic roof for power assisted by a small one or two roof windmills.

Kuyper Investment, LLC is a local concern. Working with Bruce Webb od Coldwell Banker (Canton, Marketing) and Tumolo Construction (Saline) and suppliers around the area as far away as Dexter, we're looking for a investor(s) who wants to put something back into the community, and make a reasonable profit as well. We all know all of us have families to feed. If anybody has any imput, I'll be happy to listen and correspond.

I agree with Jeffrey. We all need to work with President Obama and the best way we can do this is to keep our voices united. We finally have a president who wants to hear what we have to say. By going to Change.Gov and helping to vote up the most important issues we can be heard. What a blessing to feel like someone in Washington cares for a change!

It appears there is a lot of personal issue discussions hitting our site that are watering down our core mission statement which is how to get the Picken's Plan integrated into nations daily focus and a central focus of Obama's Energy and Environment Plan. What we need to do is get off the myopic self centered arguments between environmentalist and non-environmentalist and focus on the core issue Boone and his plan has focused on is to get real and focus on how to better use, create and find home based energy resources: ALL of the economic and environmental issues that are linked to those issues can be discussed and solved as we proceed to IMPLEMENT the plan. WE NEED to get our plan moved from #4 on the core solutions list of Obama's plan to #1; WHILE we are exploring the short, intermediate and long term alternatives available. Boone set off the alarm clock: WAKE up AMERICA! The last time the clock rang in '73 we rolled over and hit the snooze button. How often do you accept "sorry for being late, but I didn't hear the alarm clock" as an excuse from anyone you depend upon to show up? Looking for experts and interested parties regarding the feasibility of cultivating Alge as a economical biofuel. it appears that much research and many countries are deeply investigating its possibilities. I have started a group. Go to it. Refer others that may have an interest. Here is the group site: http://push.pickensplan.com/group/algebiofuel

Thanks Lisa for the response. Ramps and access for all is a guarantee. I will update all on the progress and venue over the week-end. Keep pressing your neighbors, friends, peers, local politicians, ministers and etc to get involved.

What is the groups thoughts on adding a 45 to 50 cent per gallon fuel tax? Estimated receipts would be $100bn to $125bn which could be directed to research, roads, high speed trains, new electric grid construction, battery research and related projects..Hate to give the handle to the Fed's to do this but unfortunately few other collection/distribution resourse are available. May we should create a publicly owned corporation or pool like PBS so we all can participate in the values created (no FreddyMac or Fannie there). Thoughts?

What about Oil from Alge? Starting a new group on that subject next week!

TO ALL: Looking forward into the new year, I would like to see us focus on putting together or first organizational meeting in late January or early/mid February to include the proper political and power center individuals. Obviously a preliminary organizational meeting would be required earlier. Who might be available to attend the preliminary! Please throw me an e-mail in that regard.

Of great importance between now and then is to build our organization in the 11th. I have begun to reach out to those in my local community (Wolverine Lake / Commerce / Walled Lake) as well as those surrounding it to simply as friends and associates to join, the first step to having a great an powerful organization. Please do so yourself. The Plan e-mail broadcast system is a great way do so!

Let's build the most recognized and involved District Group in Michigan!
