I just joined and would like to know if this group has any ideas on how to fight current Albuquerque building codes to get a residential wind turbine permit? I have found a vertical wind turbine and would like to purchase and install it but have been unable to date to get a permit from the city.

Hi Clarissa; I too would like to overcome objections to a wind turbine. My problem seems to be with our local neighborhood landscape association. I spoke to Santa Fe and the said no problem installing panels but local authority can limit wind turbines.

I am a DIY person and prefer to build rather than but products. You can build a 1500 watt turbine for about $400. To buy one may cost several thousands.
