using solar, wind, "plug in," free wheel, small wind turbines, roof, trunk solar panels, storage batteries
and plug in extras. Uses the basic transmission from the early '70s Dutch DAF system...simple, easily affordable and could be fully developed and on the road within 2 years. Outline upon request.

Hello Stan, it sounds good and I would love to have your outline (self powered car) to offer as a resource on my website-http://www.wiserearth.org/group/leland1- Maybe send a friend request that I can then accept. Grand and prosperous New Year to you and yours, sincerely W.L.Luster/Las Vegas,Nev./1-5-09

William, I will send you the "outline," but need to talk with my first friend at Pickens, Clynton, who gives me sound and sage advice about such matters. My home phone # is: (702) 395-7902. I would like to speak with you also. Right now, I'm up to my eyeballs in alligators--the mean kind. My co-worker (76 years old), had a fall a couple of weeks ago (we work together for a small commercial radio network). They now believe that she had a minor stroke and she has suffered tremendous fractures of four vertrebrae and pulvarization of her discs. I had similar experiences in '98....rolled a truck on some Colorado black ice, fractured my entire lower back and completely wiped out my sacrum. Not fun.

I wore my back brace, and, following her fall, lifted and transported her to the office for the next ten days, until my legs gave out. She wieghs 246 (I'm 206). anyway, she was hospitalized and then put in rehab. They are finding all sorts of problems--onset of "sundowners' dementia". Needless to say, she won't be working again and I had to take over her accounts and commercial log creation and all the fun things that go along with it. But, the icing on the cake: my "boss" is a scam artist and his fincial guys caught on and have closed our Las Vegas office. I found out this morning that I have been laid off (starting in about 2 weeks), which means that we may lose our home and all that goes with it. My wife of 34 years, Annelies, and I have a "family" of 8 dogs, six cats and five exotic birds--all rescued by us over the past ten years. Once the files are all transferred to the Phoenix office, I will be officially unemployed. So, we are another example of the
American financial "merry-go-round." So, all I have left, is my "intellectual property"...an oxymoran, I often believe. My lifelong skills are as a musician, performing artist, music therapist, recording artist (dozens of "45s," LPs and CDs are out there--some dating from the late 60s. No hits. No contacts. No residuals. No publishing/management (except when we lived in Holland in the late '70s and in NYC in the early 70s. I've had my songs stolen. about four years ago, Dodge ran a t.v. spot that used my EXACT" recording (done at my home studio), which was lifted directly from one of my CDs. No lawyer willing to work for contengency or "pro-bono." No chance to get into court. So, that's why I'm squemish about sharing my ideas--that's all they are (ideas)--until I feel that I can trust a person, like I do Clynton. So, I will check with him. I have never been ripped off like this, until I moved to LV. This is a place where many people consider kindness a weakness.

So, I continue to write music and must now, try to find a decent-paying job. I only play original music....manly my own stuff, and in copy-cat Central, it is rather tough. In fact, I've done the best by touring in Europe, the States and Australia.
I am a "dreamer," and not a mechnical inventor. My "plan" has been run by several close friends who ARE mechanics and developers and say that it would work. Clynton seems to agree. Big problem. No money. Perhaps, you and I will be able to hook up and solve the logistical and financial situation. It won't cost much for R & D and should, when released on the market sell for about $14,000....perhaps less. The idea revolves around wind generators, step-down transformers, solor panels, undercarrage "wheels" (much like racing bike wheels), plug-in capacity. I found the solor panels that caqn power the lights, air conditioner, heater, radio, power-steering pumps and other stuff. I KNOW it will work and will not require years of development. The materials are available at Home Depot and Smith's Food stors, for example. Anyway, perhaps we can hook up, like I mentioned. I would like to request that you become a "friend," and will take care of that in the next few days. My schedule is crazy, so please bear with me. Great to hear from you. Please send emails to: adavis11@mindspring or, whatever method you used. I don't want this out in the public eye and some of the specifics hold the "key" to making this work. Thanks, Stan Davis
William....did you get my email... hope so. Please give me a call. I'll check your website out and reply through that link also.....thanks, stan davis
Hey Stan, I am sympathetic to your plight. I hope you find employment soon. I too have a plan for a self sufficient steam turbine automobile and want to get it to market. If your friend will allow you, I would love to see your plans. I know a gentleman who builds sand rails and we might be able to make a prototype pretty quickly.
Jeff...sounds good to me. I'll add the outline. If someone takes it from us, so be it. I'd rather see it in use than sittin' in my documents, gathering dust. My neighbor, who was an R & D guy for Northrup his career and is a great mechanic, thinks the basic idea will work. While living in Holland during the '70s, I owned several cars that got well over 50 mpg and always wondered (safety constraints & all) why they never had them imported into the U.S. Of course, politics is the slickest and sickest place to start. However, the "direct-drive" from the old DAF is a huge key...using a series of fanbelts to operate the transmission (automatic even back then), much like a five-speed bicycle.

I lived in Estes Park, CO for 20 years before we moved to Las Vegas in '98. That's where F.O. Stanley, the great inventor of the "Stanley steamer" lived. He also was a master violin maker, and invented all sorts of cool stuff. I'll Google him and pass it on. There is a museum in Estes that has a lot of his inventions, but the Stanley Steamer held the world's land speed record for a long time...clocking well over 100 mph in the beginning of the 20th century. You probably know a lot more about that than I, but he's a facinating character--the Stanley Hotel, where Steven King stayed and wrote "the Shining," on and on... below is the outline. I am not an inventor or a draftsman, merely a dreamer. My grandfather invented the telephone delivery system that he sold to Bell for a song. He had a shop in back of his home in Wichita and invented everything from musical instruments to mechanical things that were all lost in a fire shortly before he died. It's a shame. He was an incredible artist, and, luckily, I have six of his paintings. His cartoons were way ahead of his time...Every once and awhile, I'll find something in an old box that he created. thanks to his influence and the abilities of a friend, we "created" a "stereo" record player in the age of "hi-fi," ten years before stereo was marketed....we were eight years old at the time. Think that we had the ohms down to about 1/2 and are lucky we didn't blow up the house or, burn it down. Talk with you soon. My email is: adavis11@mindspring.com

TOTALLY "SELF SUFFICIENT" ELECTRIC GENERATING SYSTEM FOR AUTOMOBILE
OUTLINE IDEA BY STANLEY DAVIS, 7504 BARBIE AVE. LAS VEGAS, NV 89131
adavis11@mindspring.com (702) 395-7902 patent pending 2008, copyright 2008
Musician, Musical Composer, Recording Artist, Sound/Audio/AV technician, Producer,
Creative Writer, "Dreamer."

1. SIX (6) "STATIONARY" 14"-16" ELECTRIC GENERATING TURBINES FACED FORWARD AT FRONT OF CAR, SIDE-BY-SIDE, BEHIND GRILL THAT ALLOWS FREE FLOW OF WIND
FROM AUTO'S VELOCITY (FORWARD). ALL WIRED INTO "ROUTERBOX" FOR DISTRIBUTION TO STORAGE BATTERIES LOCATED IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT &
UNDERNEATH BACK SEAT.

2. TWO (2) "REVOLVING" 18"-20" ELECTRIC GENERATING TURBINES "ANGLED AT LEFT FRON CORNER AND RIGHT FRONT CORNER (ONE ON EACH SIDE) OF FRONT GRILL. ABILITY TO SWIVEL AND TAKE ADVANTAGE OF "CROSSWINDS"...ALSO ALSO SENT TO
ROUTING BOX FOR DISTRIBUTION TO STORAGE SYSTEM(S) (I.E. BATTERIES).

3. "SUN ROOF" SOLAR PANEL, W/ ROUTER TO STORAGE BATTERIES. ALSO, SOLAR PANELS ON HOOD & TRUNK, PLUS RETRACTABLE, SMALL WIND TURBINES.

4. FRONT-WHEEL DIRECT-DRIVE, WITH REAR WHEELS GENERATING MECHANISM SENT TO CENTRAL ROUTER AND DISPERSED TO STORAGE BATTERIES (LOCATED UNDERNEATH REAR SEATS AND PART OF TRUNK AREA. BRAKE SYSTEM GENERATING SYSTEM (ALREADY IN COMMON HYBRID USE) SENT TO AXLE ROUTER. DAF HAD PERFECT FANBELT DESIGN FOR AUTO TRANSMISSION IN '70'S. ATTACHED "BICYCLE" WHEELS (LIGHTWEIGHT) INSIDE WHEELS ON SAME OR EXTRA AXLE....
BRAKE GENERATORS.

5. TOP,"POPUP" SMALL WIND TURBINE GENERATORS, MUCH LIKE TURBINES USED BY JETS FOR EMERGENCY POWER. THEY WOULD BE LEVER-RELEASED AND RETRACTABLE.

6. "PLUG-IN" CAPABILITIES FOR ADDED ELECTRICITY WHILE CAR IS IN GARAGE OR
HAS ACCESS TO POWER.....MAY USE STEP-DOWN TRANSFORMER IF NEEDED.

7. SIX (6)-GALLON BIO-FUEL GENERATOR, FOR EMERGENCY BACKUP. COULD RUN ON PROCESSED SUGARCANE "FUEL" CURRENTLY IN USE BY BRAZILIAN AUTOS, OR OTHER NON-POLLUTING BIO FUELS (HYDROGEN/BORAX, VEGETABLE OIL, ETC.).

8. AFTER "COLLECTION" AND GENERATION, ELECTRICITY WOULD BE DIRECTED THROUGH ROUTERS, TO STORAGE AND FROM STORAGE, OUT TO ROUTERS FOR DEDICATED USAGE. WIND, WHEEL, BRAKE GENERATION COULD BE SPLIT UP....SOME GOING DIRECTLY INTO OPERATING MECHANICS, WHILE LEFTOVER ELECTRICITY, WOULD GO TO STORAGE BATTERIES FOR USE IN SLOW-MOVING TRAFFIC, AND USE OF AIR-CONDITIONING (NON-FREE-ON SYSTEM), HEATING, NIGHT DRIVING EXTRA DEMANDS, RADIO, WINDHIELD WIPERS, INTERNAL & EXTERNAL LIGHTS, HORN, PUMPING FANS. THERMOSTAT BEING REMOVABLE IN WARM WEATHER CONDITIONS.
SOY AND VEGETABLE OILS, AND BIO-FUELS USED FOR LUBRICANTS AND COOLING FORMULAS (FOR AIR-CONDITIONER, TURBINE LUBRICANT, POWER STEERING...ALL
RUN OFF OF SMALL PUMPS). TRANSMISSION COULD BE SIMILAR TO '60S AND '70S
"DAF" (DUTCH CAR) DESIGN, HENCE "DIRECT-DRIVE." ONE SMALL SOLAR PANEL CAN PROVIDE ENOUGH ELECTRICITY FOR ALL ELECTRIC FUNCTIONS, EXCEPT ENGINE AND AIR CONDITIONER....ALTHOUGH MECHANICAL, AXEL-DRIVEN PUMPS CAN SERVE MANY PURPOSES.

9. SERIES OF SMALL, LOW VOLTAGE COMPUTERS WOULD DIRECT AND BALANCE ENERGY DISPERSION. EACH "COMPUTER" WOULD BE PRIMARY DEDICATED, WITH
SECONDARY FEATURES. THESE COMPUTERS COULD BE PLUGGED IN FOR ELECTRIC
RECHARGING OVERNIGHT...WITH "STEP-DOWN" TRANSFORMERS, THEY CAN RUN ON 9-VOLT BATTERIES, FOR THAT MATTER.

10. USING MULTIPLE-GENERATING MECHANISMS, "BACKUP SYSTEMS" WOULD BE IN PLACE AND STORAGE BATTERIES WOULD SERVE IN THAT CAPACITY. AUTO BODY DESIGN WOULD BE LIGHTWEIGHT, YET WITH MULTIPLE SAFETY FEATURES ALONG THE LINE OF THE TOYOTA "YARIS" OR SCION MODELS. THERE ARE POSSIBILITIES WITH THE USE OF MAGNETICS--MUCH LIKE THE TURBINES OF DUTCH TRAINS, WHERE THE REVERSED POLARITY CREATES TREMENDOUS POWER.

i DON'T KNOW THE SCHEMATICS, LOGISTICS, ETC. IT'S JUST AN IDEA. I AM FINANCIALLY POOR, SO IF THIS IDEA DOES WORK IN SOME WAY, SHAPE OR FORM, WOULD WHOEVER DEVELOPS IT HAVE A CONSCIENCE AND "SHARE" IN THE POSSIBLE PROFITS. I KNOW THAT IT'S JUST AN OUTLINE, BUT MECHANIC FRIENDS HAVE TOLD ME THAT THIS IS A DOABLE IDEA. I HAVE TESTED SOME SMALL SOLAR PANELS, USED IN VEGAS AND A 2' X 3' PANEL PROVIDES ENOUGH ELECTRICITY TO LIGHT UP A 1/2 ACREA PARK, RUN THE SPRINKLER SYSTEM PUMPS AND TIMERS, AND PROVIDE POWER FOR A HUGE ARC LIGHT. THAT OUGHT TO RUN A RADIO AND SIMPLE HEATER. I'M ALSO THINKING OF A BASIC CAR, WITH AIR CONDITIONING, A RADIO/CD PLAYER AND NOT MUCH ELSE IN THE WAY OF "EXTRAS," EXCEPT POWER STEERING, WHICH SATURN HAS SOLVED WITH A PUMPING SYSTEM....FUNNY HOW SIMPLE PUMPS AND FANBELTS COULD FIT INTO THIS. MY NEIGHBOR WILL DRAW UP THE SCHEMATICS.

this reply is intended for Jeff Mallas on Tuesday, Jan 27, 2009...7:45 pm PST.
William...I have tried and tried to get through to your site...no success. could you send me an email address and i will forward the outline...thanks stan davis adavis11@mindspring.com
