Indie Film “Haynesville” Will Premiere November 23rd On CNBC

“Haynesville” will premiere on Tuesday, November 23rd at 9pm on CNBC. The one hour documentary will repeat that evening at 10pm, 12am and 1am.

The show will also air on:

Sunday, November 28th at 10pm.

“Haynesville”

When the people in rural Northern Louisiana learn they are sitting on a fortune, they struggle to weigh their big dreams against the safety of their community. Some will take the money and run while others learn to negotiate with the big energy companies who are looking to drill into the trillion-dollar natural gas reservoir that lies deep beneath their homes. Will this be easy money or the fight of their lives, in what some are calling the “new gold rush”?

Hey gang, there is a rally Monday at the Statehouse we need to support if possible. Please drop me a note if you can make it. Also, someone to capture video would be awesome!

WHO: Advocates for National Gas Exploration
WHAT: Say YES to Marcellus, Stop the Frackin’ Lies Rally
WHERE: Monday, January 25, 2010
WHEN: 10:00 a.m.

This is really a counter protest against the other rally going on which is trying to halt gas exploration.

A major article in the Wall Street Journal echoes what T. Boone Pickens has been saying for nearly a year: There is enough natural gas under the continental United States to serve all of our needs for upwards of 100 years.

Check out the Daily PIckens, where you can read full the article.

Thanks for the reply Glen. Why dont we start contacting Sen Schumer, and Congressman Hinchey to support the Pickens Plan. They haven't sign up. Sen Gillibrand signed when she was a congresswoman, and it looks like she still supports us as a senator.Fuel costs have gone down dramatically, and it looks like we are getting lackadaisical about it. The price WILL go back up. I'm also going to contact my state officials.

Hello, Roni:

I would hesitate to say that we as a group "aren't doing anything." The emphasis in T. Boone's plan does not entirely center on what the public sector can do for us, but rather what the private sector can do for the public: taking the reigns as well as personal responsibility, as in using Biodiesel ( which I know you indeed do ) as well as solar, thermal, etc.

I just finished a month or so ago the installation of my solar thermal system at our home. The sun is now heating our hot water, and as you know the PV system has reduced our dependence on the local electric grid dramatically.
With the change we have seen descend on Washington since the elections, we now sport a field of legislators and executives that are NOT against us; however, if you expect them to do the right thing, you will most certainly be disappointed... we cannot rely on these folks. Regardless of party affiliation, they will always put their efforts behind re-election in place of positive energy policy. We must do what we can ourselves, every day, as individuals and Familys. This is how it used to be in America, although we have advancd far from the old time philosophy of "we didn't eat it, if we didn't grow it."

I had a business man from Sullivan County call me recently to inquire about geothermal generation... he wants to supply his own energy for his business concern, and is ready to make the financial and moral commitment to go forward with the project. Just as you chose biodiesel for your rig, and just as I chose solar for our home, the other members here will make a much greater contribution to the cause by relying on ourselves before relying on any of the people in government to do it for us. All we can do in that area is suggest and lobby, and quite frankly we have a more than capable team on that task right now: just look at Codi, at how efficient and dedicated she is at these things. You yourself are doing the right thing as well, with your emails; I too email all the time, since this is not the only group I espouse, but as you can see what matters here is simply volume, not quality... I can guarantee you that if we compare notes, I have identical text in my email responses from Chuck Schumer, et. al., the same as what you received. By the same token, we are effective at going to biodiesel, solar, etc. in our own lives, right now.

I am proud to have a team like ours, that has folks like you, that put their money where their mouth is and definitely have their hearts in the right place. No amount of pleading to the likes of Chuck Schumer, Hinchey, etc. will ever be as effective as the no-B.S. positive action we can take today. I will put my faith in the folks God has provided us, like you, Codi, and the business man in Sullivan County, the other NY-22 members, etc. before I ever will put stock in our Congress members. That said, if you want to create another email blitz, etc. just suggest it and I am sure we'll all be there... no one here is too busy or too lazy to help, and those aren't just words, that's a fact.

Regards,

Glenn

I'm very disappointed in that we,in group 22 aren't doing anything! I'm on the road, trying to survive-and sending emails to Senators Schumer and Guilliland, plus Mo Hinchey,my so called congressman. Schumer is the only one I have gotten a form letter return answer from. All of my elected officials hear from me at least once a month. Get me upset about something, and I'll wear them out with emails! Phone calls, too. Let's get something going!

Hi Team,

I wanted to let you know that between now and April 19, over the Congressional Easter Recess, we have an opportunity to reach our Members of Congress in their home districts! Having our leaders hear from us, the constituents, makes the biggest impact!

So here's what to do:

The focus is now on 2 new pieces of legislation: NAT GAS Act of 2009 and RES (Renewable Electricity Standard). Boone needs your help to rally local supporters to contact your elected officials during the Congressional Recess.

Here is what you can do:

1) Generate letters, emails and calls to your Members of Congress during the Congressional Recess
2) Set up meetings with your Members of Congress or an aide over the next week while they are on recess
3) Organize local meetings, events, happy hours, receptions with local supporters and urge them to call or email their representative on the spot!
4) Submit Op Eds & Letters to the Editor to local newspapers and media outlets (If you want to do this option, let me know and I will be glad to help! )

Contact info for your Congressmen and Senators can be found at http://www.house.gov/ or http://www.senate.gov/

Finally, please post any updates on activity that you initiate in your district. I report to Boone on a daily basis, and your feedback keeps him up-to-date!

KEEP PUSHING!

Boone's latest article, More Momentum for the Pickens Plan, is up on the Huffington Post.

It's a good one to read and comment on! Here's an excerpt about the businesses that are backing the Pickens Plan:

"Now American businesses are starting to jump on board the Pickens Plan bandwagon. And that's going to be key. It started in December when Owens Corning signed on as the first corporate partner of the Pickens Plan. Think about it: better-insulated homes and offices will mean huge savings for American homeowners and businesses and decrease our reliance on imported oil. America's largest automotive retailer, AutoNation, is another big supporter of the Pickens Plan. Last month the company's CEO, Mike Jackson, hosted a Town Hall meeting in Fort Lauderdale. What do fuel-efficient cars require? Less energy. That's good news for car buyers and the environment. Watch out for Wal-Mart. The nation's largest retailer has teamed up with Peterbilt to test two CNG trucks and two LNG trucks to run between their distribution centers and their stores. And then there's American Electric Power, which is committed to developing the type of transmission grid so important to making the most of wind and solar power. Not only will the AEP's 21st-century transmission grid promote our energy security, but it will support the economic development our country needs right now. As I mentioned last week, AT&T chairman Randall Stephenson announced that his company was going to purchase 8,000 trucks that will run on natural gas. AT&T is also converting another 7,000 gasoline-powered vehicles to run on battery power and other fuel sources."

Friends,

You have probably seen information on the Virtual March on Washington, but in case you haven't yet, here's what it is:

The Pickens Plan is organizing a Virtual March on Washington to be held April 1-3, 2009.

We are going to utilize the size and unique capabilities of the New Energy Army to have an enormous impact on the White House and Congress. The Army will focus its energy during those three days on e-mails, calls and faxes to every Member of Congress.

Between now and then we will be engaging in a series of activities to get ready for the event, including:

* Contacting Members of Congress through email and phone calls to encourage support for key aspects of the Pickens Plan.
* Recruiting new members of the Army in every Congressional District.
* Submitting letters to the editor and op-eds to newspapers around the country.
* Holding district meetings and house parties with members of the Army to discuss ways to have an impact.
* Participating in webcast events.

We will be communicating with members of the Army via email, Push, Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and LinkedIn to build support and enthusiasm for the event. Make sure you are connected to us on any of these platforms where you have a profile!

Be sure to take photos and videos of your activities over the next couple months - we will soon be inviting you to submit items to be featured here on the Virtual March homepage.

Sign up today to participate in the Virtual March and recruit your friends and family to join you!

(If you are interested in visiting your Members of Congress during the virtual march, please contact your Regional and/or District Leader for more information.)
