9-2-08 UP DATE! FINAL CUT "We've Had Enough - No TANKS!" is posted below. I went with the majority & posted the version w/ narration. We'll see how it's received - Thank you all for your imput - on to the next!
Below [see: attached files] is our newest video arrival. It is a – sort of – “animated cartoon" which I hope you will find amusing. The concept was inspired by graphic art [see: above] created by member, Lawrence W. Lee & a comment post by Dan Burbank regarding changing original Thanks to Tanks. I provided the “Cartoon Voices” – for better or worse!
There are two versions below – [1] with narration & [1] without narration. The narration was hard – I had to do all voices within 1 unbroken take – (remember I can’t edit within narration track) so it’s not “perfect” (I tried believe me) but I think it is amusing – you tell me. Or do you prefer the one without narration?
Please know – It is not my desire to be the whole show – but truly, due to my lack of knowledge & the limitations of my editorial program – I simply don't know how to make it all happen and have done the best I can to keep the idea of this group moving forward. I don’t have a studio or an avid machine. My editorial program is limited in scope – I cannot do tight editing within the narration track etc. The style we all desire – multiple voices – I fear – may well be beyond my editorial limitations. Ah, for the luxury of a studio.
With the next, 3rd video, I will return to the “member photos” format. Hopefully with multiple voices as originally envisioned and desired – if I can figure out how.
Or – perhaps someone – one of you – more skilful than I – steps forward – envisions, creates and produces the perfect scenario.
In the mean time, I hope our new [# 2] “animated cartoon” is viewed as favorably as our first. Give me your feedback – before I post it to the “PickensPlan” public video section. I sure hope “Rosie” makes you giggle – She’s supposed to - or maybe I should post the one w/o narration. TELL ME.
The best to all of you,
Kathy Lee
P.S. Please don’t share the video until I’ve posted it publically – thanks!
As of now, your vote is for the “talkie” – I've added Dan Burbank to the above 1st paragraph – & will continue to do so – t'anks for the reminder. Hopefully, others will weigh in before I download the official version. "A horse, a horse, my kingdom for a horse! ...” Yes, an old sea captain's voice - and a Walter Winchell reporter. I could ask other actor friends, but I just don't feel right using voices from outside the PickensPlan for these projects.
DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW I CAN RECEIVE A .wam FILE – audio files – ones I can re-use – manipulate – not just listen to? Yeah, unfortunately I'm old school...

Looks great Kathy!!! I prefer the one without the narration. The graphics really relay the message, that the VO is over kill. Thanks for doing such a great job!!!
So when do we make a Movie or a Doc, ( Americans struggle to be free from Foreign oil )
Have Americans from all 50 states showing or telling how they are tring to be free from oil with the many differant ways they conserve. Ask people on the street a question How are you tring to be free from oil.
This is good...a bit more militant than I might have done, but still useful for what the Plan is trying to accomplish. It works with or without sound so I guess both need to be available because both will be useful.
Militant – Yes, it is a strong message – perhaps strongest in the version without narration – I’m glad you feel it does have value. The style was intentional & much different from that of the first. Variety – the spice...
You and Kathy both mentioned wanting additional technical capabilities...wonder if you can access same through your local community colleges or technical schools (I don't know which is available in your areas). My community college has some really high-end equipment and software (which I have not taken the time to learn to use) and the staff to help one work on the project. They might even bring some of their students on board to help play with the ideas,
Beats the heck out of buying the stuff until you decide how much you will really use it. The 'scotch' in me likes this approach.
