As we look at locating transmission lines for renewables, let's include the conservation community that has been protecting these remaining wild places, so that the least invasive plan can be co-created. Seems like if there is an opposing force traditionally, in the new paradigm they need to be included in the decision.

Hi everybody!
I hope everyone is as excited as I am when it comes to the future of clean alternative energy. I am in the process of finding out how many folks are using solar, wind etc. I also know that there are some heat pumps operating around Fairbanks and plan to look into those to.
I think it's important that the people across our country that are supporting the Pickens Plan stay focused and realize that we are in for a battle and we need anybody we can recruit because numbers get attention! We have got to do way better recruiting in Alaska don't you think?
From talking to all sorts of people, over the last four years in paticular, it seems clear that a lot of people are fed up with Washington Politicians, the Media and the energy producers.Does anyone seriously think crude prices, and by extension gas and diesel(heating oil) will remain low? How can there be any credibility or trust left with any oil company after these last twelve to eighteen months? Pretty tough. I also feel that with the Pickens Plan that the more control we have on production of our fuels the more accountability there will be when whoever wants to jack prices. Don't expect lower prices! I feel that if we hold the line around where we are now is realistic. With the infrastructure changes that will be needed to make this work along with the other costs that will be associated with the move to NG and Wind that seems reasonable. What isn't reasonable or fair is to live with is the uncertainty of if you will be able to pay your heating and electric bills every month. When fuel prices were going up,up,and up, quite a number of folks went to wood as primary or back-up heat to oil or gas. You only have to drive around the valley in Fairbanks or get up in the hills to see how much more wood smoke there is in the air, especially on temperature inverted days. More on that later.
So let's see. Reduce our dependance on imported oil and gas in a big big way, and at the same time develope and implement the greatest changeover of infrastructure and power generation our Country has seen! Yeah! THERE IS NO DOUBT WHATEVER THAT (WE) CAN DO THIS!
Do not let the global alarmists, those that would have us living in a "State of Fear" or that are blaming global warming or climate changes all on dirty, nasty, polluting man. There is no question left in my mind that industrialized development and the growth at any cost attitude, has fouled our earth, oceans and air and is contributing to climate change.I most certainly am not buying into the belief that the weather changes and warming and the rest of it, is all our doing.Certain people, groups etc, would have us belive that our Planet is perfectly happy to have us live in a fairly stable enviroment but we know that's not true. If even alittle of what Geologists are deciphering is accurate we could have a huge loss of life that's never been seen before or huge changes in where we would have to live. And I would have to say so what? If man is not totallly wiped off this Planet we will survive. In the meantime we need to clean up what we can and that's quite a bit really but not impossible, and start living within our Planets rhythm and relax this need to dominate the Planet.
Anyway gotta go...... still have to make a living

Did you deliver a copy of the petition to Obama or McCain's office? Can you deliver a copy on election day? If so, please let me know! We're hoping to get petitions to all candidate's offices (or political party offices) in all 50 states by the end of election day. It's real easy and a great way to get involved.

If you have already delivered a copy of the petition or if you can tomorrow, please drop me a message and let me know.

Thanks,
Micah Lauer
