The problem has adequate definition. How do we "fix" global warming? Here's a novel idea.
The Question:
How do you remove both particulates and carbon dioxide in roughly similar proportions from the atmosphere, world wide cheaply, easily and safe for the environment?
The Solution:
Build tens of thousands of wisely scattered water storage tanks that are well sealed. Fill them with ,"lime water". Using solar power, run enormous vacuum pumps, bubbling vast volumes of unfiltered ambient air through the lime water.
The water catches the particulates, the lime catches the CO2. The concentration of the lime controls the "proportionality" of the remediation between CO2 & particulates.
The calcium carbonate etc. can be precipitated out of solution to renew the water's CO2 absorbing properties while sequestering forever like coal the resultant residues in mineral mines that have played out.
I want to know what EVERYBODY thinks of this idea. If we can get people to push remediation instead of CNG for cars, (I've got fuels covered) we all might get to have grand-kids. Anybody else thinking as far away from the box as they can get? Let us know.
This used to be one of the most active groups in the Picken's Plan. The AAABP was always in the first 3 pages on the list of groups. I took a little time to write the patent app for my biofuel company, so sue me. Where is all the smart people at?
