Among the various alternative energy options, I believe the CNG is the most promising choice that can bring immediate results at a national level towards achieving America Energy Independence. This group is for those who are focused on CNG and are interested in developing a strategic plan to fully implement a national CNG program.

This group can work with the CNG Conversion Kit group and Invest in American Independence group.

HOW DO YOU PROPOSE TO EMPLOY CNG FOR MAXIMUM EFFECTIVENESS AND EFFICIENCY?

Daniel - There are a lot of alternative energy options out there but I think this is we should start and show accomplishments. As an engineer, I've always subscribed to the crawl, walk, and run philosophy in undertaking any project. By gathering all of the engineers, scientists, and individual enthusiasts on CNG, we can achieve something in the short run while the other form alternative energy gradually develops.

By working with the CNG Conversion Kit group and the Invest in American Independence group, we could have something tangible to show in relatively short order.

I propose that we start by having three subgroups to chart the deployment: (1) CNG Policy and Regulations, (2) Technology - CNG Conversion Kit and (3) CNG Implementation Group. I encourage anyone to take the lead on any any of these.

In my opinion, the most urgent is the availability of a simple to use and affordable conversion kit that can pass US requirements. In thirld world countries, these kits are already available and they are already using them in mass but may not be good enough without further development of the technology.

My technical expertise is in electrical power design and computer systems. I am by no means an expert on CNG's. But I'm been fascinated with CNG use on vehicles and reducing my fuel expenses. My cousin who lives with me is an expert Master Auto Mechanic and has done conversion work. While spending over a month on business trip in the Philippines last August, friends of mine showed me how they converted taxis to run on CNG with Korean made conversion kits that cost less than $100 USD.

Gathering information within the PickensPlan takes some effort but a lot of work has already been done by a lot of smart people. By organizing them in an orderly fashion, we'll have a better understanding of what we have and what we need to do to make this happen. Suggestions are welcome. Anyone interested in speaheading any of the committees is also welcome.

Attached files are starting points.

IMW offers a very good line of CNG equipment ranging from oil free gas compressors to distribution equipment. I have personally checking into their compression equipment and it is very reasonably priced.

The biggest hurdle that I see is the issue of which came first the CNG vehicle or the distribution network. People are not going to invest in a vehicle that they can not fuel. Therefore we must build the gas distribution network in order for auto makers to feel that CNG is a legitimate fuel option for their vehicles.

My partners and I are working on the production side and will have over 20 billion SCF of biomethane available annually by 2015 any business leaders interested in building the distribution side?
