AS A GAS FIELD SURVEYOR, HAVING WORKED IN ARIZONA, COLORADO, NEW MEXICO AND UTAH, I AM HOPING TO SEE THE GAS POWERED VEHICLES BECOME A COMMON SIGHT IN OUR COUNTRY.

THE WEST VIRGINIA COAL MINE TRAGEDY AND THIS LATEST FIASCO ON THE OFFSHORE DRILLING SHOULD HELP PEOPLE REALIZE THE COST OF CERTAIN TYPES OF ENERGY, SUCH AS COAL AND OIL,  LOOK AT DUBAIS!  WE ARE BUILDING AN EMPIRE OVER THERE WITH OUR PETROLEUM DOLLARS AND GETTING EMBROILED IN WARS, GOVERNMENT CORRUPTION, AND WHAT-HAVE-YOU!! . FURTHERMORE,  IT IS INSANE TO HAVE PEOPLE DRILLING 2 MILES DEEP WITH NO CONTROL OVER ANYTHING WHEN SOMETHING GOES WRONG!  SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN ALLOWED!  I WONDER HOW MANY POLITICIANS GOT THEIR POCKETS LINED ON THAT ONE!

LET'S HOPE THAT AMERICA WILL COME TO ITS SENSES ABOUT THINGS:  PERHAPS THEY WILL FOLLOW ARIZONA'S LEAD AND BALK AT BIG GUV'S LACK OF ACTION (AS WITH THE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT ISSUE).

THANKS FOR LISTENING!

Bob,
You are right on. Our politicians are more interested in the big money from big oil than doing the right thing. If you look at the voting records of AZ Representatives and Senators you'll see mostly "no" votes on energy policies and environmental issues. There needs to be a push for NG vehicles and fueling stations. No more gasoline vehicles should be produced or imported and only vehicles that run on NG, bio-fuels, electricity, of hydrogen should be sold. It should be mandatory that every gas station have bio-fuel and NG fueling. It needs to happen now not 2020 or 2050.

I agree Bob,

Unfortunately I don't see OPEC as relinquishing any control of the market. Oil is down about $16 bble right now and it is not a supply and demand cause and effect. They have lowered the price on the expectations of bad oil press related to the off-shore spill boondoggle. The lower oil price appears to be all market based intended to put the general public back to sleep about energy prices.

What the general public doesn't realize is that it is intended to keep the US dependent on oil and thwart the efforts of the alternate energy industry. It is starting to ring the same tone as when Hugo Chavez was selling the US $8 bbl oil two decades ago. The effect was to put many of the US gas and oil drillers out of business and increased our dependence on foreign oil nearly 20%. I wouldn't be surprised to see another attempt along the same line. It worked before.

Hopefully we will be more aware of the tactics this time around and the alternate energy sector has laid enough pavement to continue us on to point B.

There is no point to simply promoting CNG - This is a war and the general public has to be shocked into change. Resistance to change is best pushed with a cattle prod. Your leaders need to know that we demand cleaner, low cost, domestic fuel now. Your friends and neighbors need to know what the ramifications are to sleeping behind the wheel, so to speak.

I'm feeling a bit radical this morning I guess. It is not my usual demeaner but the crap that is going on suggests we lean on the leaders even harder.
I TOTALLY AGREE! BUT IT SEEMS LIKE WE ARE GETTING SPREAD PRETTY THIN, MONEYWISE AND PEOPLE WISE, AROUND THE WORLD AT THIS TIME. IF OBAMA HAS A LIST OF PRIORITIES, THE NATURAL GAS IMPLEMENTATION IS PROBABLY DOWN A FEW NOTCHES.
