I'm looking to help spread the word in the Northwest Arkansas Area. I have gone ahead and started a new group for the area to help maintain a more organized front for our corner of the state. The Group does not have much info up, nor many members, but we are looking for ways to help. If anyone has any ideas, or wants to join to help focus in NWA check us out:

Did anyone attend the Solar Tour in Little Rock Saturday? I would love a report on it.

Hi Group,

Looks like some interesting tours coming up for those of you interested in seeing solar installations in action and meeting with the people who are getting things done in this state. If you can I urge you to go to one or both of them.

Hi,
I just loaded up a short solar energy video on my page.
This week we plan to start making the DIY solar hot water heating collector. This is just a short introduction for the members that are not at all familiar with the pieces and parts. This is almost the least complicated system of all thew solar water heaters. If you learn the basics first, the more complicated stuff comes easier later on. I promise not to use any technobabble.
Thanks
Walt

Chesapeake Slashes Yearly Production Growth Forecasts Through 2010 - Update
9/22/2008 6:50 PM ET (RTTNews)

- Monday, Chesapeake Energy Corp. (CHK: News ), lowered its revenue growth estimates from 2008 through the end of fiscal 2010, following its decision to reduce drilling capital expenditure by approximately $3.2 billion or 17%. Additionally, the company has also revealed plans to reduce its drilling rig count, and to sell a $1 billion minority interest in its midstream businesses.

The Oklahoma-based oil and natural gas company said that the decision to lower the production growth forecasts was made, so as to account for reduced drilling activity in the mid-continent region, drilling capex carry associated with its joint ventures, and a 50% fall in natural gas prices since June 30, 2008.

The company said the move also reflected rising concerns about the possibility of an emerging U.S. natural gas surplus in advance of increased demand from the country's transportation sector.

Production growth estimates for 2008 has been reduced to 18% from 21%, while for full years 2009 and 2010 it has been slashed to 16% from 19%.

Chesapeake noted that it has closed the $1.9 billion Fayetteville Shale 25% joint venture transaction with BP America, and also indicated progress over talks for a Marcellus Shale 25% joint venture, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2008.

Of the $3.2 billion drilling capex reduction, the company has attributed $1.9 million to reduced drilling activity, while the balance $1.3 billion was attributed to the drilling capex carry associated with the joint ventures.

By the end of 2008, Chesapeake expects to reduce its rig count of 157 rigs to approximately 140 rigs, and plans to keep the count flat through 2009 and 2010.
