I was @ the meeting and have a pic of him on my cell camera. I've been sending and receiving messages from Kim. Work in Bentonville, so probably won't go to Fayetteville unless it's @night.

Pickens says Wal-Mart studying switch from diesel
Wed Sep 17, 2008 6:04pm EDT

HOUSTON, Sept 17 (Reuters) - Texas oil tycoon T. Boone Pickens said on Wednesday he has convinced the head of Wal-Mart Stores Inc to study the possibility of switching the fuel used for the retailer's huge fleet of delivery trucks to compressed natural gas, from diesel.

A Wal-Mart spokeswoman confirmed that Pickens was a guest speaker at a monthly associates meeting Sept. 13 in Bentonville, Arkansas, with chief executive Lee Scott and thousands of Wal-Mart employees.

According to a weekly e-mailed update promoting wind power and the use of natural gas for transportation as a way to pare U.S. reliance on imported crude, Pickens said Scott was "impressed by the Pickens Plan."

Told that Wal-Mart, the world biggest retailer, currently operates 8,500 trucks, Pickens said Scott then asked his workers to begin a study of what would be involved in replacing the diesel fleet with trucks that run on natural gas.

"To have America's largest retailer looking into shifting their trucking fleet to run on natural gas is a major step towards our country's energy independence," the Pickens Plan e-mail said. (Reporting by Eileen O'Grady; Editing by Marguerita Choy)

Mr. Pickens is pleased to visit Salt Lake City, UT to discuss the Pickens Plan. The Pickens Plan addresses the single biggest crisis facing America today: the growing and dangerous dependence on foreign oil. This will be the ninth Town Hall Meeting in a series being held across the country since the Pickens Plan launched on July 8.

http://roberto-de-sonora.blogspot.com/2008/05/end-all-subsidies-to-alternative-energy.html

We would be better off without any energy subsidies.

It seems the best of the crooks always find ways to outsmart the good intentions of the majority.

Ethanol and methane would be king if people only knew what prices they were really paying.
