I live just outside of Fayetteville, in NW Arkansas. I have been involved with research in the Alternative Energy arena for 8 years now. As an artist we try and keep everything we do to a minimum as far as impact on our environment goes.
We too are looking forward to adding solar to our studio as we are far too dependent on electricity in our studio.
Please feel free to contact me about what we found as our solution to the huge Solar investment in our area.

Hi there,

I am in Hot Springs, and currently am with a group that is striving to provide a solution to homeowners wanting to put solar systems on their homes without having to suffer the astronomical expense of purchasing the system. Our goal is to put solar systems on homes all across the country, supplement the grid with these systems, therefore negating the need for any new dirty energy power plants. We also support wind energy and other Clean energy alternatives that reduce our dependency on carbon based fuels. I look forward to working to develop renewable energy resources in Arkansas. We are way behind, but we can do this if we put our personal energies together. Lets get this started.

We all need to thank Mr. Pickens for explaining the energy problem that we as a nation face. Earlier it was one Group (users) pointing fingers at the other Group (suppliers) and vice versa. The problem is real. It has been magnified to some extent, in recent times, by speculators. But, the truth is we are importing more oil every year and producing less. We are sending billions of dollars overseas.

I like Mr. Pickens Plan but I think it needs to be supplemented by other plans. It by itself will not get us to Energy Independence. It will just buy us more time. For this reason I have posted a petition for Energy Independence .

Please (a) sign the Petition and (b) forward it to your friends. United we can achieve Energy Independence.

Thanks.

Regards and Best wishes,

Great to see a local group on such an important topic. Looking forward to meeting everyone. See the little guy in the picture with me - don't think 60 years of natuaral gas is enough time to insure his future is bright. We have to change what we use as primary and what we use as backup. All fuels have a place, but we have to move today, not tomorrow to clean up the carbon dioxide emmissions, lower our footprint, and come up with a plan that doesn't run out on our children and grandchildren.

I just read this:
Texas officials gave the go-ahead Thursday to the nation's largest wind-power project, a plan to build billions of dollars worth of new transmission lines to bring pollution-free energy from gusty West Texas to urban areas.

Texas is already the national leader in wind power, and wind supporters say Thursday's move by the Public Utility Commission will make the Lone Star State a leader in moving energy to the urban areas that need electricity.

"We will add more wind than the 14 states following Texas combined," said PUC Commissioner Paul Hudson. "I think that's a very extraordinary achievement. Some think we haven't gone far enough, some think we've pushed too far."

I am resisting my urge to despise TX for their "everything's bigger" attitude for the sake of America- that is true patriotism! haha

A windmill blade plant is being built as we speak in LR for wind powered turbines. Our state stands to reap great benefits from this and our natural gas resources.

Join us at Carbon Neutral as we move forward with our plans to Flip a City.

Vacant Buildings - Holyoke

Download the pdf (4 MB) and get a sense of where we have to start.

Then watch us grow and implement a plan to install grid tied solar pv systems on all rooftops, and most importantly, bring an entire City back to life as Carbon Free as possible.

I'm up in Northwest Arkansas - I can possibly make a meeting in this area, but not in LR!

Meanwhile - I'll spread the word!
