PickensPlan

Hello, I am a published writer and poet. Have one of my poems on my page. I am working on publishing 4 volumes of poetry. I am a Fiber Artist, (needlepoint, off-loom weaver, quilter) and won First place in a juried art show in Colorado. I am very good at advocacy, acting on behalf of tenants here at an unfortunate Senior/Disabled apartment complex where I live. Boy, do the property managers hate my guts! I'm very invested in Counseling. I have worked at a Re-hab, and most importantly, as a Hospice-trained grief counselor/family visitor. So my skills are to help clients be calm, to focus their energy, to forge plans and help clients implement these life plans. I have the courage to interrupt and ask pointed questions over and over until I get an answer. These skills have worked with hospital administrators, property managers, people in recovery, people grappling with life issues, and people facing end-of-life issues. On Pickens Plan, I'm going to say over and over to conserve you're energy, don't waste time trying to get people to CARE about what you care about, focus on ONE thing we can get accomplished. The vision is too large to implement into change. Focus on one thing, one step at a time. I'm here if anyone needs my skills. Namaste, anita

Ok, so if I just check out your page further I see what you write! any tips on getting my book published? the pro's and con's of self-publishing or signing on with someone. My story is an educational, environmental fantasy journey with rich characters and a 12-song CD to go with it. And soon to be play. My website, www.elflive.org is up and good enough for now. Let me know if you come to Branson, kris

Hi Kris; I don't have an agent yet. If you're going to self-publish, you don't need an agent right now. But you need an agent. There is lots of info out in the library on how to get published. Your story and CD sound really interesting. Self-publish, and we'll all buy some! anita
